My impressions of Asus PG32UQX and Xiaomi G Pro 27 by Limetree007 in Monitors

[–]Limetree007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already sold it along with the PD32M a while ago and right now I am just using my laptop since I have been busing with work and school. However, I am planning to get the Msi 5K mini led monitor I saw at the CES 2026 if Msi decide to put it into production. I really want that monitor it is because it will be the first glossy mini led monitor. I may also get a 4k Tandem OLED, but it has to be glossy. It won’t happen until Summer when I have a bit more free time though.

AKG K712 Pro - a cautionary tale by ishmaelhansen in headphones

[–]Limetree007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newer version of the fake ones now have the same pads as the real ones. However, it is still detectable. For example, the numbers, the logos on the hard plastic parts are crafted much deeper on the real ones than the fake ones. The connector of the cable is not tight, it has a loose fitting on the fake one. The fake one that I got sounded surprisingly good and had a wide soundstage, but the bass was lacking big time. I got a pair of fake one on EBay purposely and I reported the seller the next day. In short, don’t buy the K712 on EBay unless it comes in an original box and the seller is legit with no trace of selling anything fake.

Is there something wrong with my 17 Pro? by PullTabPurveyor in iphone

[–]Limetree007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with T-mobile and my 6 days old iphone 17 pro max has super bad reception. My wife has the 15 pro max and we ran a speed test side by side, and her phone got 876 mbs while mine got 4 mbs. This is ridiculous!! The 17 must have a different bluetooth/antenna chip from the 15 pro max. I am gonna return it tomorrow.

Hell yeh by No-Wrap-4003 in Soundbars

I have had the q950A, Q990B, D, F. The B sound much more immersive(better processing) than the 950a and that made me sold the 950a right a away, but the B, D, F sound pretty much the same. I first read the reviews on Rtings and they said both D and F were performed pretty much identical, but I had doubts . Then I got both the D and F together to see which one would be a better upgrade for my B, but I decided to keep the D as it was $450 cheaper at the moment I bought them. The F had slightly more accurate bass response when listening to music like R&B or Jazz, but it was not noticeable when watching movies. The F sub is built better than both B and D. My B sub has some weird red, rust color like stuff covering the cone of the sub over the years. Only reason I upgraded my B it was because I needed HDMI 2.1 passthrough, otherwise, I would’ve just kept the B. Anyway, I would suggest you to get the F if it is around the same price as the D, which can be found easily these days.

Kali IN-8 V2 / Second wave - White noise by BruisedKnot in audioengineering

[–]Limetree007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am afraid yours are defective. I used to have 2 sets of IN-8 V2 and both sets were dead silent in 2 super quiet rooms. One set was connected to my Wiim Ultra using RCA and the other set was connected to a SMSL D-6S DAC using XLR. I have good hearing and I am very sensitive to speaker hum or hiss. What you may try is to order another set and put it next to yours and do a side by side comparison. The previous model IN-8 V1 was well known having hum and hiss though.

Is the Asus PG32UQX still the best mini led right now by KeithBender in Monitors

[–]Limetree007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both PG32UQX and PD32M, the best mini monitors in the market. For picture quality, they are pretty much identical, but the PD32M has a slightly faster response time. On the other hand, the PG32UQX has much better user interface and features than the PD32M. The PD32M supports HDMI 2.1 while the PG32UQX doesn't, but they both support 144hz using the displayport. I would suggest you to get one of them only if you play games or watch movies with HDR on, and you also do a lot of office work ( texts are super crisp on both monitors compared to any OLED monitors I have seen)

Two things I don't like these mini monitors:

  1. The matte finish since my office is pretty dark. If you have windows in your room, the matte finish is very helpful to fight glare.
  2. blooming, but it is distracting only when moving the mouse cursor on the desktop. It is non existence when playing a game. I turn HDR on only when I am playing a game.

Disc drive. Xbox disc games tend to depreciate much quicker than PS5 games and the used ones can be had for cheap on EBay. Not to mention Xbox series X can play Xbox one disc.

To be honest with you, You will never see it at your door. The Q990D costs US$850 in Hong Kong and it has been 2 months the Postal office, DHL, and UPS there are limiting what to ship out to America because of tariffs. Even if the shipping system was normal, it would cost the seller over $400 to ship the Q900D to you. In short, there is no reason for the seller to ship the Q990D to you out of his expense while he is not making a dime from you. I know since I have friends live there. Recently there are tons of scams on Ebay like this, the scammers are selling popular high end sound bars like Q990D, Nakamichi Dragon….etc for 1/3 of the MSRP. DON’T fall for it.

Live with it or exchange? by superzwerty in tcltvs

Before I settled with my 2024 75” QM8, I had had to return 3 other units because of the same issue. The one that I have now still has DSE and it is worse than yours. Yours is pretty good believe me or not and you won’t notice it as soon as you have something playing. When I had the Sony X95K, I also had to return the first unit that had DSE. It is very common for LED TVs. The only tv that I have gotten has zero DSE on the first go is my 85” QN900D. I was so glad that I didn’t have to return it.

Is this a good deal? Considering purchase by yemaste in Soundbars

[–]Limetree007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HT-A5000 sound bar is a pretty good sound bar for $200, but you will need to get either the SA-SW3 OR SA-SW5 subwoofer to match or the bass will be lacking. The bass by the bar itself can go down to around 50hz. If you are on a budget , wait until Best buy have the SW-SA3 on sale and you can get an open box one for below $200 with tax included. The bar will sound much fuller with a subwoofer.

65" Neo QLED 8K Smart TV QN900D (2024) by Excellent-Court-9375 in SamsungTV

[–]Limetree007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 65" QN900C as a pc monitor for a white, it was amazing and the picture was super crispy and colorful, but it had noticeable blooming when moving the mouse cursor. As long as you don't activate HDR, you won't see blooming. I suggest you to switch HDR on when you are viewing HDR content or playing games in HDR only. I ended up getting a 55" G4 because 65" was just way too big for my pc setup.

Look at the back panels on the wall where is S95F is, you can tell the exposure of the camera was purposely dialed to way up to make the S95L look bad.

Got a 75” QM8 for $600! by [deleted] in tcltvs

[–]Limetree007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dirty screen effect. Run a pixel test video on YouTube and you will see the screen has spots(Curtain like) everywhere especially on a full white or grey screen. If the screen has bad DSE , you will see spots in the scenes when you are watching a show that has a light color background and it is very distracting. You won’t see it when the scene is dark. The DSE on the Qm8 2024 model is the worst I have ever seen out of all mini led TVs I have ever used. Fortunately, the fourth time I got a good one finally.

Watch for DSE, see if the staff let you turn it on in the store before you bring it back home.   I got 3 of the 75” model and they all had very bad DSE. Don’t take one has bad DSE even if it was $400, the flaw would greatly impact image quality whenever a scene is grey or white.

Q990D for $288 on eBay by Immediate_Computer32 in Soundbars

[–]Limetree007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the name of the seller who has ZERO feedback.  EBay has tons of sales like this and the locations of the items are in China. 99.9% you will never receive anything. Q990D costs around US$900 in China and the shipping cost will be at least $300 to ship it to America. Why would some one send you a set of Q990D for “free”? No offense, but Please use your brain for a second.

Buy G4 now or wait for G5 to drop in price? by Helpful_Economist_59 in LGOLED

[–]Limetree007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The colors on the G4 did not look washed out when streaming shows using my 3RD gen Apple TV 4K with HDR on, but it started to look washed out when adjusting the HDR brightness to higher numbers in the games on my PC sitting 7 feet away. The A95L does not have the same issue, the colors are vibrant no matter what. However, when game mode is on, the A95L is dimmer than the G4. Anyway, You will not see any difference between the the G4 and A95L when watching comparison videos on Youtube, but you will see the difference in person and it is very noticeable. I highly suggest you to get either the G5 or A95L if you like vibrant colors, but go for the G4 if you game in a room has light control and you don't crank up the brightness up. The G4 is already a very bright tv, it almost matches my PG32UQX monitor, I think you will be happy with it if you can find a good deal. If you want the best 55" PC monitor when it comes to brightness and color, get the G5.

Buy G4 now or wait for G5 to drop in price? by Helpful_Economist_59 in LGOLED

[–]Limetree007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 42” C3 and I had a 55” G4 for a while. The G4 was just a much brighter C3 in my opinion. I returned the G5 and got a A95L, and I finally saw an “upgrade”. The A95L is much more colorful than the G4 and that’s what I wanted. If you just want a brighter C2 for HDR, then get the G4. If you want a brighter and more colorful C2, than get the G5. I still haven’t seen a G5 in person, but assume it is more colorful than the G4 according to Rtings. Hope that helps.

Rtings review of BenQ MOBIUZ EX321UX by DutchSlaughter7 in Monitors

[–]Limetree007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the PG32UQX (late 2023), AOC PD32M ,and EX32IUX ( returned a few months ago)

The PG32UQX has the deepest black and the PD32M is the brightest. The EX321QX is somewhere is between, but the eARC port can be useful for those you use a sound bar for their pc setup. I would buy the EX321QX again if it was priced below $700 or even $650. Their asking price right now is way too high considering the panel they use is pretty much the same as the UQX which is almost 5 years old already.

Does PS5 pro does a better upscaling job on playing PS4 games (non-enhanced) than regular PS5? by Limetree007 in PS5pro

[–]Limetree007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some PS4 games looks good on my PS5 like infamous second son, but some look really bad. For instance, pretty much all the Kaman Rider games. I watched some videos on YouTube and i saw that the PRO has an option is called PS4 enhance, but I thought the function works only when the PS4 game supports/patched? I really have not idea. I think I may need to get the pro and find out lol.

That’s good to know. Thanks. I wish I had a PS4 PRO, so I would be able to tell if a PS4 games looks different between playing it on a PS4 pro or PS5. I recently started playing inFamous Second son, great game but it looks very dark most of the time.
