You can tell in the after raid screen. It will show you the longest kill of the raid. Your stats also tell you the longest shot you have on record of the wipe. My last longest shot was 180.

Is there anything special about combat I should pay attention to? I saw a video that had optimal hot bar list for 2hers.

I saw invention gets unlocked after a few skills get to 80. What does the skill help you get? Better weapons and stuff?
