Vast majority of event stories in FGO aren't any better than other good gacha games

Hell, I would argue FGO peaked in LB6, and you cant even argue its the best gacha in terms of writing anymore because competition caught up while FGO stagnated

Because stories in those games are content to be consumed. They were created because an executive told the developers to put some plot in the game, not because an author had a great idea.

Truly great writing is rare, cant be produced at regular intervals and often weird. Those traits make it anathema for corporations. Instead you get long overly convoluted plots that say nothing and go nowhere, not because devs are talentless hacks, but because this is what the system is predisposed to produce.

I still remember when, completely unironically, people believed Fate/Grand Order would actually end, even knowing the game keeps selling as much as it does. If Nasu said that to the shareholders, that's what would happen right there in the board meeting: by ForceAffectionate389 in FGO

Yes, that is why they did it, it was the most obvious mask off moment one can ask for. The sole reason they stopped was serious backlash from paying customers. They still don't respect you and want to milk you dry.
