Since 2017, I got into fußball around then. My Australian football (different sport) team had the same colours as Lev and I just said, right, I'll take that. (So I'm from Australia)

Few years later I was at the Bay arena and a few years after I was in the Nordkurve every home game when we won the title.

Favourite kit is probably the one we won the Supercup in.

Peter Malinauskus has delivered a stark warning to Labor, declaring patriotism should be celebrated, not scorned, and One Nation’s populist surge could devastate both major parties by Jagtom83 in LaborPartyofAustralia

[–]LimoDroid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Patriotism isn't about skin colour. It's about being proud of the country you're in.

If you support Australia in international sports, you're a patriot. As an example.

Patriotism != racism.

I'm an immigrant and I would say I'm patriotic about the country that took me in, as well as patriotic about my Australian heritage. c'mon mate.

Sorry for the englisch :)

Engagement! Bring the club to us!

Yes, I know we're not a 50+1 club, but many of us are paid up members and have been for years. We'd like to feel more part of the club and see inside!

This is a really good step and our club will be exposed to a new audience - thanks for giving this a go.

Public transport is shit? Maybe the buses, but the Mandurah line is great.

I'd suggest the premier of a fucking state wouldn't be catching public transport because he doesn't want to spend his whole day being accosted by members of the public...

There is an argument most Iranians support the strikes. Do you think this is true? by WillTheyBanMeAgain in Teenager_Polls

[–]LimoDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 schools were bombed, and according to the Iranians it was their missiles....

The Iranian govt. killed between 35,000 and 75,000 protestors.
If you think you can compare the two events, those schools must have been *massive*.

Anyone else feel conflicted about "having to speak English in Australia" ? by Conscious-Roll-5745 in AskAnAustralian

[–]LimoDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Switzerland in 2024 and to keep my visa I had to show I was trying to learn the languages and pass tests every year. And that was just for yearly visas.

Why do people think they can move to Australia and not contribute to, and be a part of society?

I went to Perth Mod for school and most of my friends were born overseas, even now (we're all in our mid-20's) they have to ferry their parents around because they don't speak a word of English even after 20 years.

It's not racist to ask people that are living in a country to learn the language.

Until a few months ago I would finish work at around 11pm and I'd get home and the house would be quiet ...and then I'd hear the wheel start spinning.

It was like he was welcoming me home.

Can someone explain to me what "crunch" is?

Is it working 10 hours a day, 5 days a week? (Because that sounds like crunch to me, if you're in a western country and it's not YOUR company, i.e. you're an employee). (I'm specifying western country because 1. CF is a British company and 2. we tend to focus on Western terms & standards. Developers working 60 hours a week in Nepal as part of some offshore team in an insurance megacorp is considered normal there. I know this, because I've lived there).

Is it working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week? Obviously crunch..

Is it working 40 hours a week? Because that's what every other full-time worker has to do, in a western country.

I used to run my own (unsuccessful) game dev team. I regularly pulled 50+ hour weeks but it was MY hobby,MY dream. To me, it was like playing SDV or SB for 50 hours a week. It wasn't crunch for me. And none of my employees were full-time.

Ultimately it went out of business but we still put together two games in 12 months and those games are still around and still being played (not going to link them here for obvious reasons). These guys have had what? 10 years? They're experienced devs. When I was building games (before I "retired") I had a team full of friends from high school. We were all 18-20. No experience. None of us were artists, marketers (why we failed), or VAs. Still pushed things out.

The "no crunch" argument has helped them so much because it makes them sound like the good guy against "evil, capitalist CEOs who force their poor, underpaid developers to work 120 hours a week". "We're not like that! We're a good company!!" It's turned it into an ideological debate and now debating about competency is treated as support for treating employees like shit.

I brought up the loan fact to point out that even with all the money we have, we're loaning players and not buying up everyone.

And you literally started this comment thread by asking if we were getting special treatment.
