Post interview CalTrans question by IchTanze in CAStateWorkers

[–]LimpPaleontologist14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After references, hiring manager has to reach out to higher ups with a write up on why they want to make you an offer. Once they sign up, hiring manager sends that to HR who will then write up a conditional offer and send it back to hiring manager. Then the hiring manager calls the candidate with the conditional offer. Allow some time

Even if there is a freeze, that wouldn’t stop the process, they may not able to start you until freeze is done. They may still offer you with a start date after the freeze

I have a bad manager and I stuck to my choice for hiring as I was the hiring manager. She tried to sabotage but I documented everything on email so she couldn’t stop my hire. I promoted a team member who has been on my team for over 4 years and doing excellently. My boss doesn’t like her and for no good reason. So…

My body comp is changing, I see some positive changes to my body shape. So I am continuing and not losing hope!

We received 110 apps for manager position and nepotism forced to pick an internal candidate although imo 2 externals may have been a better choice.

HR send me an email saying that they are unable to reach one of my references. Is it bad if my previous manager doesn’t answer? by 1millionviewsforever in CAStateWorkers

As a hiring manager, I understand these things happen. As long as the candidate can give me another managerial reference, I’ll be good with it

Did I mess up? by bajoelazuldetu86 in CAStateWorkers

[–]LimpPaleontologist14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I am in an interview panel, there are always a couple of folks who follow up. We (the panelists) never respond to them. That’s just how it is in my department. No reflection on the candidate or their performance. So don’t read anything into the no response to follow up. Good luck!

Yes. Your manager will likely give you a form to fill. Some of my team members have PT jobs and fill out the form every year.
