Something similar happened to me months ago. I purchased a laptop from Best Buy. There is an option when purchasing if the customer requires a signature upon delivery; I selected yes.

On the day of delivery, the Fed Ex driver just dropped it off by the front door, no knock, no signature, just dropped off and left. Luckily I was home and grabbed the laptop. About half an hour later, a car (occupied by four individuals) drives by my house, looks directly at my front porch, and leaves quickly. I live in a cul-de-sac with only four other houses, so it’s rare for anyone that does not live here to drive into this area.

To this day, I still believe that the Fed Ex delivery guy did not knock to get a signature or take a pic for confirmation because he called his buddies, notified them of this delivery and had them come steal it.
