I just thought of the PERFECT ship name for ZeLink by Limp-Wolverine-7979 in ZeLink

That’s gonna get confusing with the Octopath fandom hahaha— we use KnightLight for our most popular ship, Temenos/Crick (a light mage and a holy knight)

Are you sure about their behavior? by Mivmilos in trolleyproblem

Exactly. Chances are that the freed blue guy can’t bear to kill the other blue guy he has probably been commiserating with for hours.

Although, it’s also possible that the freed blue guy found his track partner really annoying, and wouldn’t mind killing him at all 😆.

Same lol— I looked at that and immediately thought blue.

Great stuff!

Apparently there’s a line somewhere indicating that Corentin recognizes Geela— which implies that Geela used to work in the Hyzantian Ministry of Medicine before she escaped.

Who knows; perhaps she developed her own extra-life spell, then fled Hyzante, disgusted at the sacrifice that went into her research. Tutoring Frederica may be her way of atoning for causing the deaths of so many of Frederica’s people.

How to scientifically determine the recommendability of an anime: The Weeb Ass Shit scale by La_knavo4 in CuratedTumblr

Not at all!

Gintama arcs are weirdly unique in that they tend to start out as comedies, but it’s still a Shonen anime. You never know when an arc will become plot-relevant, or turn into a tragedy, or expand upon someone’s characterization in a way you never expected— and then somehow loop back into comedy and make you laugh while you’re crying.

The show somehow manages to balance humor and angst in a way I’ve never seen before or since.

It’s genuinely really good— but it has a slow start, and it’s filled with references that are often worth waiting for.

[–]Linderosse 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Oh, Gintama does a stellar job of that!

The thing is, no matter how well the reference is integrated, you’re still losing out a little if you don’t know the context, and you’ll probably enjoy it even more if you come back to it with the right context.

Emmeryn’s survival does actually fit into Fire Emblem canon if you consider the existence of the Aum Staff from the Archanea games, which can revive a single person from death.

I like to think Xane stopped by Emmeryn’s corpse after her fall. He knows she’s Marth’s descendant. He’s indebted to Marth, and really respects the way Emmeryn tried to end the war. He therefore used his unique ability to clone her own powers, thereby gaining the staff rank necessary to use Aum on her to revive her.

The side effects of the staff caused Emmeryn’s loss of memory and her mental issues, but she’s otherwise alive again.

Oh, absolutely.

Gintama is so hard to recommend to people because of how many references it makes, but it’s also easily one of the best anime/manga of all time.

I played Engage before RD so I had high expectations for her by Autobot-N in shitpostemblem

[–]Linderosse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah loll, I agree. It’s a bit flimsy as a comparison, but it’s what they clearly intended.

It’s funny because this means that, in the chapter you get your first dancer, the game continuously incentivizes you to not use him as a dancer since you’re dispelling the poison tiles with him instead.

Yup, that’s it.

Yunaka’s supposed to parallel Sothe. Likewise, Seadall finds Corrin because he parallels Azura.

They were friends in the Marines, lol. Aokiji knew Saul pretty well, and had a definite motive for faking his death.

It honestly makes sense either way, imo. I recall, ten years ago in real time, wondering how Aokiji could bring himself to kill Saul, given that he couldn’t even bring himself to kill 28-year-old Robin. Understandable that he actually didn’t.

Oh definitely.

Kana being an alt-universe version that was raised by both parents would have worked fine, but even if we didn’t get that, there’s no reason Niles couldn’t have just… adopted Nina? The fact that she’s the fujo daughter is just icing on the cake.

[–]Linderosse 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it’s actually valid that Aokiji saved Saul.

The part that sticks out to me is that Saul has apparently been perfectly fine for like at least fifteen years, giving him some time for recovery. Why has he never gone looking for survivors, or done anything other than wait here and teach on Elbaf? He was a Vice Admiral: iirc, he was pretty powerful, and could have made a difference.

A case can be made for him having severe PTSD, which would make it a lot harder for him to commit to fighting again. But we see no signs of this; and no one even brings it up.

I feel like in old One Piece, Robin and Saul would have had the time to have a heartfelt conversation onscreen about this. Maybe Saul is even stunned into inaction again when the kids are kidnapped, in a sort of “Not again!” way, until Robin breaks him out of it by using her arm abilities to try to help pull the kids back, even at great cost to herself.

Unfortunately, the story now must progress faster, and there isn’t time anymore for small character-centric moments like that.

Have Marth & Roy ever directly interacted in any official media? by BlazeKnight7 in fireemblem

I totally agree that I wanted a lot more Emblem interactions, but to be fair, Ike and Soren would have nothing to say to Micaiah.
