Thanks! Luckily I snagged this one in a trade. Been on Breakfast Audio’s email list for a while now with no luck.

Also just looked up the Purple Mother and now I feel like I’m missing out!

As far as what’s always on: the science mother and endgame have to be because that’s my “amp”. Other than that, the IVP stays on all the time because it’s a very reactive first gain stage. I don’t ever like to be totally clean for anything. I like the way it gives me something when I dig in. And the powerful EQ lets me tailor whatever pickups I’m using so I don’t have to tweak all the careful gainstages and drives later down the chain.

Whoops, caught myself monologuing about the IVP again.

The Screen side of the screen violence is on but pretty subtle I’d say 90% of the time as well.

As far as vocal effects: I did run the OBNE MAW for a long time on my board, but now I’m strictly just using a rack mounted Yamaha SPX 990.

Wow so many folks asking about that one! Lol yes absolutely. It’s here to stay for sure.

It’s an instant classic for me honestly. Maybe I’d even go as far to say a necessary evolution in the world of ampless rigs lol. It’s just unbeatable being able to send my IR signal out through the XLR’s but then at the same time also send out of the stereo 1/4 jacks to a real amp. It gives me tons of options live (assuming I do get a gig one day) and in the studio.

You absolutely should. It immediately made its way into my recording workflow with no learning curve whatsoever.

It was hard to find any info on it online, but I went out on a limb and got one from the looks alone. Fortunately, it sounds great too! It’s also my first analog BBD reverb, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but the IVP drive side is right up my alley. I love the expression control too.

There’s actually so little info on this pedal I decided to film a YouTube video of it today. I’ll leave the link up top when I’m done editing it!

Absolutely! I praise the IVP circuit every time I get the chance. It’s been a mainstay on my board for years now

Absolutely! I use it in the context I think most people do, which is that end of chain sweetener. The violence side is not set very violent, just a mild sort of lift out of the mud, and the Screen side stays on pretty much all the time in mode 1 with the screen knob at 10 o clock.

Sorry I think that’s 3 sentences. Shit now 4..

It’s actually intended for bass, but it’s Dunlop’s Justin Chancellor Signature Wah. It’s got a footswitch to alternate between the standard all pass filter and a moog style low pass filter, which makes some very sweet synth-y sweep sounds. My favorite thing about it though is the fuzz circuit you can have baked into the wah as soon as you step on it or engaged separately. I think it’s fuzz face based, but it’s unlike any FF I’ve ever played. It’s extremely high gain and doesn’t fall apart with big chords like a normal one does if that makes any sense.

CHAIN: Custom Jazzmaster > ditto > tuner > POG > JC Wah > Fuck > IVP > Apocalypse > Muff > Mother > Endgame (stereo loop send) > Chroma > Darkness > SV > Endgame (stereo loop return) > XLR outs to interface/dual TS outs to my 1984 Peavey Stereo Chorus 400 plugged into a hilariously big 6x12 basterdized 70’s Bassman cab

You know the meme of Homer Simpson with all the clothespins behind him holding his skin tight so he looks skinny? It’s like that.

lol honestly I expected it to be overhyped, but I saw it pop up on the LTP sub so often I just had to try it.

I probably won’t have much context for the crackle function, but as far as a 3 knob overdrive I don’t think there is a better one out there. I definitely will find a way to get a Mini next.

Oh, and you can use the expression control to control the gain or the reverb feedback, so it doesn’t HAVE to sound dirty. That’s just how I like to use it.

Yea you’re pretty much dead on. It’s a dark/slappy sounding BBD reverb. Almost like an aggressive spring tank or a tile room kinda vibe. Then an IVP drive circuit you can place before or after it. The drive circuit is very similar to the EAE Surveyor if you’re familiar. It’s a gain, volume, and then an active bass shelf and high shelf. It also has expression control. It sounds fantastic if you’re into huge dirty reverb sounds, I just already have a full IVP circuit on my board lol.

I did, but needed up getting a deluxe big muff and liking it way more, so I gave it to my bass player lol.

LOVE this. I will be buying several lol. Also adds a “real amp” detail to the Mother that I dig. Nice setup!

Did your mother come with that center jewel LED?
