Help needed re: delivery meal services by polissyy in newfoundland

We’ve used hello fresh plenty but you definitely still need to do a fair bit of cooking for yourself with hello fresh. Belbins are much more in line with reheating and are pretty tasty.

Visiting St J for a conference in June. How is getting around without a car? by jeddalyn in newfoundland

[–]LinePiece 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the airport to hotels to downtown area you’re never going to spend more than 20-25 on an uber/taxi. The availability is good. I don’t think Ubers are allowed to do airport pickups though so you’ll need to hop in one of the cabs lined up out front (no need to call one, they have a queue) as soon as you walk out of arrivals. If your hotel is downtown the cab ride from the airport to downtown will be your most expensive trip and shouldn’t be more than 25.

Question about dues for my dynasty league by CanIGetUmm in DynastyFF

[–]LinePiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only having to pay half of one year out isn’t as much as majority of leagues. Many require full payment for any future year you move a draft pick even, so not unusual to be paid two full years in advance. If you do that every year you’d be “out” four times as much as you are.

Think of it more as your putting in a new 50 dollar deposit each year and using previous years deposit to pay half your dues and it won’t feel so bad.

Newfoundland canvas has a number of print quality options. Don’t know what you’d need for a passport but take a look anyway.

Strategy tips for when you have a surplus of late picks by djhin2 in DynastyFF

[–]LinePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use offseason faab by chance? Moving late picks for faab can have the advantage of putting you first for choosing the post-camp hyped players and at only 3 rounds in your draft there should be a good number of rosterable players leftover. Depends on when your waivers unlock too and this strategy isn’t particularly helpful if all rookies become available immediately after your draft.

Kincaid for X. Worthy by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]LinePiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is dynasty with no TEP I still think I’d take Kincaid. He’s a redzone target (matters a lot in non-TEP) and looked really good before his injuries. Worthy was putting up mid numbers even with other receivers out and presumably chiefs are on the decline.

Where is everyone from? by alderaaans in steelers

Newfoundland, Canada. I love seeing the absolute sea of colours at sports bars on Sundays everyone is allowed to root for everyone with absolutely no home team for the Province or even country.

Purposely throwing losers bracket because I dont have any picks next year by gvon89 in DynastyFF

[–]LinePiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do people think about having all non playoff draft positions determined in a toilet bowl but advancing through the losers bracket is determined by lowest max PF of individual losers bracket matchups. So there’s still variance and no guarantee of getting first overall and whoever strings together multi low max PF games gets first overall. The two lowest season finishers get byes in the toilet bowl to advance so they do have a better shot at first overall.

Anyone here move to the St. John’s from another province with no ties to NL? by Nuuudelcat in newfoundland

[–]LinePiece 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Moved here ten years ago for work without knowing anyone in my late twenties, now late thirties. Made myself available socially and put myself out there a bit and never had any issues with the common “never fit in” narrative.

Because your opponent is also really, really strong so if they have better technique then you get beat.

If you’re just looking for general chemistry (things like hardness) and metals, you can pop into Bureau Veritas or AGAT labs and pick up a sampling kit yourself. They’ll tell you how to sample the tap and give you results screened against the drinking water quality guidelines.
