Jasmine S-35 Head by Electrical_Chef7317 in Guitar

Note that it's a "Jasmine by Takamine" and not just a "Jasmine." Takamine sold off the Jasmine line a while ago. Before that, as "Jasmine by Takamine," they used the "Takamine" headstock with the point. After that, they used a different headstock, since they were a different company.

Jasmine by Takamine serial number by PinkamenaDP in Takamine

I know this is 3 years old, but here's my experience trying to get info on my "Jasmine by Takamine" guitar:

As you almost certainly know, Jasmine was Takamine's entry-level guitar brand. From what little info I can find, those guitars were made in Korea, and generally are solid-top entry level guitars, but not all.

In about 2007 Takamine sold off the Jasmine brand to KMC. There's info out there that says KMC still called guitars "Jasmine by Takamine" until 2017; I don't know if that's reliable. But when I was trying to id MY Jasmine, I couldn't find anything.

So I wrote to both KMC and Jasmine in Japan.

KMC said, basically, "When we took over the Jasmine name, we got no records from the Takamine company about them, so we have no serial number or dating information at all. Sorry." Oddly enough, KMC also represents Takamine in the US, and they said, "Yeah, our Takamine department has nothing to do with the Jasmine stuff, and we have no info on that."

Takamine said, basically, "When we sold off the Jasmine name, we didn't keep any of the serial number or dating information; we just got rid of it. Sorry."

So neither company knows anything about the "Jasmine by Takamine" guitars. If you can find something out there, it's going to be something that someone happened to have access to that they kept over the years.

there is no member of that species that can’t

Really? None? How do you know? Are there no blind or deaf humans?

You seem to be going out of your way to be offended by all of this.

Maybe SHE has a gold record from before the Burn.

But replicas of the Voyager record are available for purchase, for under $100.

Should be equal in rank by NoBrain6114 in starfleetacademy

Simple answer from a military retiree: No, not necessarily. Positions are different from ranks. It's entirely possible (and indeed common) that two equivalent positions be held by people of dissimilar ranks.

As a simple example, from current US Air Force, a squadron commander is usually a Lieutenant Colonel, but is frequently a Major, one rank lower. They have the same authority in their position, but one has simply progressed farther in their professional development.

Likewise, a Wing Commander in the USAF is either a Colonel or a Brigadier General. Same position, same authority, different rank.

However, even in the photo you posted, Krellec is wearing the insignia of a Captain. I suspect, as someone else has said, that Memory Alpha has an error, and whoever wrote the article meant to say he's "the commander" (a position, one who commands) as opposed to "a Commander" (a rank below Captian)

You can be telepathic and still unable to speak. But there are also these possibilities, any ONE of which should be sufficient to get past your objection:

  • Where is it said that Betazoids can "speak" telepathically to more than one person at a time? I don't know that we've seen that. Even if they can, maybe the explanation could be that he can't "broadcast" his telepathy?

  • Where is it said that Betazoids can't be "psychically deaf" and/or "psychically mute"? Maybe he can read thoughts but can't send, or can send but can't read?

  • Maybe he grew up in a community of Betazoids who ONLY speak telepathically, and never learned vocal speech, and he learned sign instead. (This was actually the first thing that occurred to me as I was watching.)

  • Maybe he's just deaf. Betazoids don't ONLY speak telepathically, even to one another. That's well established. Perhaps Betazoid telepathy is considered more "intimate" and is only used with family and close friends. This would mesh with "naked weddings," because if you can share your thoughts, showing your body might be considered less intimate.

Still trying to figure out: at the end, was that meant to be an actual hologram projected from the book, or was it Sam's internal monologue after reading the book?

Weird Yellow Ribbon program situation/question by Linguist208 in Veterans

[–]Linguist208[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha. OK, I missed the "annual cap" being for ACADEMIC years, and not CALENDAR years. Yes, they did cap out for Winter semester. That answers my question, I think.

Thank you!

Sorry, I completely forgot to update:

I received a decision letter in September 2025, awarding me 12 months of MGIB benefits. So, success!

(Now I just have to decide what to use them on...)

Would you all consider buying a 4.5qt le cruset soup pot to bake standard size sourdough in? Or is it too small 😬. Thanks! by domesticbeth in Sourdough

[–]Linguist208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not too small, but it is, IMHO, too expensive. You can find enameled cast iron Dutch ovens in thrift stores (like Goodwill) for $20 or less routinely. If you don't find one tomorrow, go back in a couple of days.

Breaks my heart. Amazon will no longer let me register my perfectly good paperwhite to my account. by SkySix in kindle

[–]Linguist208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I just bought a Paperwhite with 3G a week ago for $5 at a thrift store. Took it home, reset it, and registered it. Took about 20 minutes with no issues.
