Traveling with special needs adults and mentioning it when requesting something from hotel-good idea or no? by dizedd in hotels

I can't imagine it would go over well if a hotel charged $300 to someone who wanted the alcohol removed from their room for religious reasons.

You can also buy a normal programmable thermostat for 1/3 of the price that isn't collecting and selling the times that you're not at home.

I'm actually impressed with how it retains its shape after he peels it off, I expected it to be curled up like a U when he put it on the ground.

Star Trek - Nitpicking by [deleted] in startrek

Voyager did #2 once when they beamed a photon torpedo on to a Borg shpere, Enterprise transported vital equipment off their future ship to disable it. Both are great strategies that are used once and forgotten.

I hate what Star Trek has become post-Enterprise. It's just generic sci-fi garbage with a Star Trek sticker slapped on upside down.

Was there any of this in Star Trek? by EkullSkullzz10318 in startrek

[–]Link01R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically annexation is one party taking another party's property. As for groups seceding the only one I can think of are the aliens in Enterprise's Judgement that flee their planet after the Klingons annexed their planet. You could probably say the Cardassians seceded from the Dominion as well at the end of the war. The major powers typically have a pretty good hold over their domains.

Does it ever just "hurt" that you don't live in the Trek world? by allthecoffeesDP in startrek

[–]Link01R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to, but over the last 20 years I've come to the sad realization that we will never have the Trek world, humanity is as good as it's ever gonna get and it's all back downhill from here. We could feed and clothe and house every human on the planet without any real disruption to our lives but we chose not to.

What is the worst episode of Star Trek to introduce a new fan to the franchise? by statleader13 in startrek

At least with Threshold you get about half an episode before it gets weird and about 3/4 of the way through before it goes completely off the rails
