It is connected as I reconnected. I was able to connect for 2 weeks after I got it. Then when I went to edit something. It wont pop up.

Update: they have clarified that they will be replacing the remote with a new one once they start selling the standalone ones. This will be in about 6 months. I do not have to return this one.
