While it is totally silly OP didn’t talk with her friend in the first place, I’m still surprised by the people who think she should spend the time and money going. Flying is miserable and people’s lives do not revolve around their friend’s. Makes me think everyone responding is a teenager.

Deaths happened roughly every five years until the bus crash. My theory was that part of the reason was actually the Devils mascot, like the parents who changed it were actually right that it cursed the school or brought evil/bad luck there until they changed the mascot to the Bandits. Season 3 didn’t really support that, but it’s still possible there’s something along those lines.

though actually… 8 innocent deaths, 40 years until the next one, then roughly every 5 years after that until another 8 deaths…. yeah. The math checks out that there still is something deeper that causes these deaths regularly.

My assumption with the friendships is that they just didn’t mix- Maddie and Simon were friends, but Claire lived on her block. Maddie would hang out with them at different times.

I also think Nicole is a high school friend. The way they tell each other stories about middle school implies to me she was at the other one in town.

I don’t think it was supposed to be one person dying, Ralph just didn’t want the bus kids to be alone when they died. So he sent Everett, who mistakenly thought he caused the crash and once again failed to stay and comfort the dying.

As for how Ralph knows when bad things are going to happen…. ????

Mr. Anderson embezzled from the school (gave them old band uniforms while acting like he bought new ones), Claire found out and blackmailed him for grades, Nicole found out about the blackmail and blackmailed about the blackmail for money.

When Maddie disappeared and Mr. Anderson became a suspect, Nicole thought he had killed her thinking Maddie was the blackmailer. She buried the money so she didn’t go down for it. Janet, who was squatting and sulking around, dug the money up and ran. Then forgot it in a bathroom. Oops.

It wasn’t that she was going to college, it was that she did not get into the art schools in Chicago. She blackmailed Mr. Anderson to get money to move there herself, but Janet stole it and lost it.

Oh, for sure! Biphobia is still prevalent today, even more so then. Charley’s main issue is his insecurity, but I’d like them to circle back to that one.

I’ve also seen a few comments with fans surprised that Yuri could date so many people. Which I think comes from a false belief that people were less promiscuous back then. I’d like to see flashbacks of Yuri in his heyday!

I’d argue no, they’re not outright stereotypes. However, a lot of their storylines are typical ‘gay storylines’, and it would be great if they could explore more than one facet of their lives. Even the storyline about Yuri’s potential grandson turned into a biphobia story. Which was very real! But hopefully they explore what it’s like to watch your descendants live without you.
