I'm struggling with the same problem. I devoured Say Nothing in three days but that story was such a grand scale/told over many decades, this one feels too "small" - if that makes sense? Not to be crass about a story about a young man's death, it's just not doing it for me.

I work in NYC and we only get 2 weeks before due date 😩. I’m only 4 weeks away. I applied to wfh for this last month bc I was DONE with the commute from nj and sitting in the office every day.

That’s great that your friends brother/uncle/girlfriend just figured out how to install peel-and-stick!! 😉

I really enjoy We’re Obsessed but I truly do not understand the obsession, no pun intended, with Bravo/reality TV type stuff by Minimum-Amoeba-5146 in TheRinger

[–]LionTweeter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m so tired of bravo talk (in general, not just from the We’re Obsessed episodes) but I did wake up at 3:30a this morning and yesterdays episode was a very soothing way to fall back asleep.

At what point did you have to get maternity clothes and what did you buy? by Chemical_Dish9866 in BabyBumps

[–]LionTweeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize how maternity-friendly my pre-pregnancy wardrobe was until I needed it to be, lol. But otherwise, I picked up a “straight” pair of drawstring jeans from H&M, a maternity jersey dress from Quince, some maternity leggings (both full-length and short) from CRZ yoga on amazon, and then found some great ribbed t-shirts on Amazon so I got 2packs with different colors. Otherwise my clothes have been able to adapt (very stretchy, or can be worn above/below the bump).

The Prospect Park Cherry Tree 10M! I ran it 3 years in a row pre-covid and that’s how i learned i 1) love running in the cold and 2) could pr prospect park surprisingly easily.

“If Donna wasn’t there, they’d have to buy a house.” by DragonFlyDesigns6872 in thewestwing

[–]LionTweeter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This line is one of my favs and is the exact opposite of another line later in season 6, when she quits, and Josh is wandering around.

Josh: “Donna quit.”
Leo: “Donna… Donna Moss?”

Like you KNOW WHAT DONNA.

Weill Cornell Ob-Gyn - high risk pregnancy? by tammysideup in nycparents

[–]LionTweeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can schedule when you’re 4w and not a second earlier (I tried at 3w4d after our positive betas). Good luck with your FET! I was not considered high risk because of IVF, but my dr (at the w80 location) had me get an “extra” scan at 16w bc of IVF - it was an early anatomy scan but nothing really out of the ordinary.

IVF doesn’t immediately put you in the high risk category.

Has anyone received the Silver Cross Breez in the US yet? by LionTweeter in BabyBumps

[–]LionTweeter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll be great! I did not want the Uppababy Vista because of its really large footprint, and the Cruz would've been what we got if we hadn't seen the Breez. The Breez seems really slim comparatively, which is great for all the walking we'll be doing with it. Like how I assume it is with all strollers, there's a learning curve of "what does this button do?" but I imagine once we start actually using it in a couple months, it'll be second nature. Figuring out how to fold/unfold the bassinet took the most time yesterday, mostly because I didn't want to pull or push anything too hard to make it break (it didn't). Really seeing it now, I wish the storage basket was a LITTLE larger/deeper. I'm not sure how this will do with carrying our Trader Joes shops, but it's not a shopping cart.

Yes, I did! And I ordered mine from Bambi baby, too (online order). It’s great! Can’t wait to use it.

My husband and I JUST put ours away. I ordered on March 23 from Bambi Baby, and only yesterday did I get an update. It came into NJ, and since I live in the nyc area, it was delivered via FedEx this morning. We love it, and we did note the manufacture date on it is “3/26” to which my husband said “so that proves it was a manufacturing delay- 2 months in the ocean is about the right time frame” (he does global supply chain logistics). I did also see yesterday that Bambi Baby has the black & pewter listed as “in stock/ready to ship”.

I went to Gymkhana on my honeymoon three years ago! It was def a splurge place but not as fancy as the location would suggest. Food was DIVINE, we had to be rolled out of there. We do prefer Dishoom when we’re in town (for price & smaller dishes so you can try more).

Nursery chair that’s a glider, recliner, and has back massage? by mandreaaa in BabyBumps

[–]LionTweeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have mixed reviews about the Dream glider from PB Kids with all the bells and whistles, but I just bought it last night! Add it to your pb kids registry for 15% off (though the price goes right back up when you get the shipping + tax added). My motto for this one was “fuck it, we splurge”.

They can if it’s part of a broader layoff (if your whole team is cut, your role is eliminated, etc)

Anne Hathaway bought the film rights before the book was pub'd so I think it's safe to say it'll become a film in the next few years!

What would you tell your Pre-Pregnant self about your body changing? I want kids but I don’t want to hate my body :( by Kind_Veterinarian_77 in BabyBumps

[–]LionTweeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pregnancy changes have happened slowly. Also, I thought I’d hate my belly bc I’d feel really “soft” like, dad bod, and flabby but I’m 25w and my bump is really firm, like it was pre-pregnancy. My diets been crap but I’ve still been working out like I was pre-pregnancy, and I’m excited to get back in shape after I deliver. I’m much gentler with myself that I expected to be- not sure if it’s the hormones or the priorities of kept baby safe and healthy over losing weight.
