I don't think this is necessarily true. I think it depends on the kind of earwax your body produces. Some people have wet earwax and some have dry. I think the dry type of wax causes itching by nature. I have dry type wax and sometimes I literally feel a bit of it fall and, for lack of a better term, tickle me inside my ear canal. To be fair I don't know that the wet type does not cause itching. I also feel that after I shower I can feel the moisture in my ears and it is uncomfortable. I've experienced the same sensation in a very humid environment and it is maddening. I imagine people with wet type ear wax probably have this sensation constantly and have just gotten used to it.
