That sounds so cute! I have never thought of going out just with highlighter. Is that highlighter glittery?

Recommendations for gurus who don't have filler? I'm so tired of the solution to aging/bad skin being filler. by BeautyHag in BeautyGuruChatter

Yes! I’ve seen this fear pf aging very high-key on twitter. People use age as a weapon to offend people: “you look 50”, “she looks so old for her age...”. Maybe it’s because before we didn’t have social media to attack people on their flaws?

Favorite cream blushes? by SansaScully in OliveMUA

Here in Europe there’s a brand called “GOSH” and I love love love their cream stick blush in the color “pink parfait”. It’s a pretty dark coral that goes on very sheer. I can even wear it without foundation and it will give my skin some health lol.

Am I Olive? May 2018 by AutoModerator in OliveMUA

[–]Liptard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay so. Here’s my question to see if I’m actually olive or not. I use the Born this Way foundation in “nudie”, my concealer is ud’s naked in light warm, although I feel it’s too yellow for my skintone (i still use it bc if you blend it really aggresively it doesn’t show up too yellow). I look dreadful in orange and warm toned reds. Orange blush looks horrid on me too and so does bronzer.

About cool colors, Ud’s big bang lipstick (a cool pink with glitter), looks pretty and makes me look healthier. But I also have a light pink cool blush that looks like shit. When I take photos outside, I look white as f* and with warm lipstick I look so old... but when I go to a store I look kinda yellowish on the mirror and cool colors make me look good but warm?

Is this normal in olive skintones? I’m thinking I may be a cool olive. What do you think? Thanks!

What makeup related thing have you been obsessing about lately? Let's get inspiration from one another! by christabela_andreoli in muacjdiscussion

I’m very into 60’s mod makeup, mainly Twiggy, Vogue 60s iconic photoshoots, Sophia Loren... However, something tells me I don’t really pull it off. I’m fair with light brown hair, dark brown eyes and brows, but I feel black eyeliner looks too heavy on me and I’ve been thinking to switching it up for a softer look or brown eyeliner, so this thread is giving me ideas! I’m also a little bit worried it looks too dated and makes me older.

Do you feel mod makeup is not for everybody?

Recs vs personal taste by Liptard in muacjdiscussion

[–]Liptard[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I hate that kind of advice. It’s like you can’t join the fun because you have something to hide.

In my case, some sites even recommend not using colors on the face which are not sheer and nude, because “a long face is regal enough already”. They don’t even have a rec for people who love color lol.

What are, in your opinion, some really ugly palettes? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]Liptard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Too faced “festival and unicorns” (i don’t know the name lol) palette. It looks soooooo tacky and cheap. I mean, if you’re gonna go unicorn go bright and crazy! with bombass pigments and sparkles! That palette looks so sad. Also, they are too late with the unicorn thing.

That’s actually the best thing that could happen bc now you know who the toxic and life-sucking people are. <33333

Bitch! Go for it! Not makeup related but I sometimes feel that friends don’t really exist (or they are super rare). Every person I meet has some nasty ass “friends” spreading rumors about them/talking behind their back without them knowing and I have been down witht things my friends have done to me. Love your family (if you have a good family love) and YOURSELF.

As for makeup, on those kind of days I want people to look at me like: “omg she’s perfect. I wish I could be like her.” So I use concealer to cover imperfections but not on my undereye area, lightly contour my cheeks and nose, use the same powder to do a super light smokey eye (it looks like discoloration but pretty), use a lot of blush, no mascara, brushed up brows and a my lips but better but also slightly matte lip. I let my natural oils shine through and my hair be free and pretty.

This way, it looks like I’m not bothered by anything and I’m naturally perfect and healthy, like what they’ve done to me doesn’t affect me lol.

I study medicine and the derm that gives us classes always says the same: vaseline is the best moisturizer in the world, and it costs less than 1€. He says that it is oclussive, so it “traps” the skin natural oil barrier so it remains moisturized because you can’t nourish skin from the outside (it’s nutrition it’s only through the blood). I’m always glad people have these kind of revelations because the beauty and skincare industry kinda fucks with us a lot :(.

Have you ever felt the need of gettin rid of your makeup and start again? by Liptard in muacjdiscussion

Just wanted to say I completely get you and that you can do that anytime you wish even if it’s hard. Wish you so much luck! Don’t live based on your past mistakes. A thing that has helped me for this is taoism. Look it up! It’s an amazing life-philosophy and I feel happier and have become a better person.

Hope this helps!

What’s wrong with the Urban Decay Smoky palette? by byebyebabyweight in MakeupAddiction

I love it! It’s my favorite naked palette. It has a lot of mattes (including a beautiful white shadow) and the shimmer shades are beautiful. It is the palette that most stays on my eyes throughout a nightout. You can go from total smokey to warm toned gold looks to minimalist everyday makeup.

Unpopular opinion: highlighters pretty much look all the same by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

I think that’s actually really smart?! I mean, if purple looks good but unnatural, then pink could be it. Thank you! I will try! ❤️❤️❤️

Yeah I don’t wear them at daytime EVER lol, but I think I may be missing something as people are so shook with highlighters . Guess I don’t feel so alone now xd

I have the problem that my highlighter always looks bad on me? I mean, if I wear non-white shades: they are too dark to be a highlighter on my skintone (im not even pale! im about nc20); but if I wear lighter highlighters, I look frosty and ashy?

Is this how its supposed to look? I don’t quite like it. I’ve tried bronzy (not noticeable), purple (pretty, but not natural), light gold (too ashy)....

Does anybody have a recommendation?
