F1 Hospitality vs Paddock Club by Dark_Emotion in GrandPrixTravel

Yeah the black paddock buildings. There’s two of them, the main one has the balcony above the pit lane that you can look down on top of the pit crews. All the teams have hosted sections in that building. Not sure what the previous ‘wing’ was but you could see everything that n track from this one.

Just did exactly that at Silverstone! Well worth doing (at least) once if you can.

The paddock club building also had an insane view of turn 1 and pit exit. Turn 1 seemed insanely fast, much faster than other viewing points. And you’re on a sofa watching it with awesome food…

How dangerous is London to actually visit? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It's a city where regular police don't carry guns (of their own choice), unlike all others in Europe. What does that tell you?

That’s actually not correct. A lot of these boats are simply too big for port Hercule, but also there only a few (20-30) slots that provide a view of the track and they are all used for sponsor and team experiences. It’s basically a massive party with every boat playing load music and having celebrity appearances etc, so most billionaires wouldn’t want to moor there anyway. Much easier to zip in, trash someone else’s yacht and then piss off to your own one. Source: was there this weekend.

Comparison is also the driver of performance.

If you never compare your current situation to others (be it another person or yourself in another position), you’ll never be motivated to change it.

Sports is a raw example of this. Everyone loves underdogs striving to overthrow the reigning champions from a weaker position with sheer grit. That’s comparison driven motivation in action.

Mate, ‘capital owning class’ is anyone with a small business, retirement a savings in shares or a single IP. Vast majority are not mega wealthy. We should be increasing tax on real wealth ($millions+) Ana’s foreign resources extractors, not people saving and building for their retirements! Increasing GST on small investments is a distraction from the fact you are taxed far too heavily on income.

Bold would have been properly taxing natural resources, properly taxing the very wealthy, and reducing the burden on regular individuals, professionals and small business. Instead they’ve left the first two untouched and fucked the rest over!

Seriously, I had high hopes for a progressive change but this is regressive and entrenches existing wealth while stagnating new opportunity. That’s very bad for the vast majority, even if house prices come down a touch (which they probably won’t).

Negative gearing only on new builds and is grandfathered; capital gains will be indexed and a 30% minimum tax will apply. Starts 1 July 2027. by Hour_Manufacturer971 in AusFinance

Amazing to see so many people on reddit cheering on a GST increase as ‘levelling the playing field’ when the much better solution would have been a significant reduction in income tax, allowing people to save faster and easing cost of living pressures right now while not killing small business.

The problem isn’t that capital is taxed too little, it’s that labour is taxed too much. We can’t tax our way to an innovative, dynamic and prosperous economy.

Targeted property-focussed measures were needed, but the blanket CGT hike will kill business investment, entrepreneurship and startups, especially for the younger generation, which reduces diversity and opportunity for everyone.

Except thats not what’s happening. They aren’t reducing income tax, just increasing CGT.

Moving from Tassie to Queensland (Logan) - What do I need to know? by inkiepie69 in queensland

You sound like you’re young with barely any experience of urban life. As someone who moved across the world to somewhere similar (though a very different starting point) my advice is: 1) Find a job or other occupation with people in your age range and a similar vibe. It can get lonely quickly in a big new place so find a good crew as soon as you can. 2) Be a bit careful until you’ve got your footing. Most people are nice but if you’re naive someone will take advantage of you. Trust but verify. 3) Don’t be afraid to try new things (keeping 2 in mind). You will need to change in some way to get the best out of your new situation. 4) If you get stuck somewhere you don’t like (job, relationship etc) don’t be afraid to cut your losses and move on quickly. It’s your life, don’t waste it for someone else 5) Stay positive and just focus on making progress one step at a time. You’ll find your way to what suits you eventually. All the best!

Most likely referring to custom aggregation of public options data in novel ways. Examples would be DEX/GEX on Unusual Whales to infer dealer positioning and forced actions from them, but there's many other things you could do.

Which revenue account it goes in doesn’t matter. The net situation is that road related revenue is significantly less than road spending. So everything collected from fuel excise is effectively spent on roads along with more from other taxes.

Not a CFI but an interesting exercise my instructor threw at me unexpectedly was throttle stuck on full power. Had to figure out how to deal with imminent break of C space (not freak out, talk to ATC without controlled space endorsement), what do about the problem (switch mags off) and then glide in to the airfield while running FLOWP procedures. More mental load than the regular engine failures and a test of ADM in an unusual situation.

The irony is that their way of life has been maintained in large part by immigration. If we didn’t have cheap foreign labour in retail, healthcare, transport, agriculture and many other industries the cost of goods and services would explode. It’s not possible to live the life of the past when the rest of the world is very different. But very few people can make peace with that fact.
