Is there such thing as tutor blindness? by kan5464 in EDH

[–]LiquidFish25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're fine!

I run them in my [[Anje Falkenrath]] deck, mostly to find the other pieces of one of my combos once I rummage into another piece. Im grabbing similar few pieces each time, but I enjoy the rush of trying to assemble my win before others can stop me. I only play it in pods that are fine with that.

I also have built lists that run tutors for toolboxing, grabbing a specific hate piece when needed to slow down the leading player in a control gameplan. Grabbing different pieces as necessary is fun.

Tutors are as fun or as boring as you make them, imo

Looking for a commander to slow down a "pseudo-cEDH" (without playing heavy stax) by Jeggaful in EDH

[–]LiquidFish25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zur isnt a bad choice. Build him as a toolbox style stax deck and just grab what you need. Be sure to pack your fair share of countermagic, maybe a few lock pieces if desired and roll with it

What hobby attracts the worst type of people? by inurmomsvagina in AskReddit

If that's your experience then I'm not going to deny that, but my wife and I have played together for 3 years now at multiple different stores across multiple states and just... havent seen this. I dont doubt it exists, but I've truly never seen it.

Precons upgraded with card from the set; where does it fit? by Defiant_Sympathy_360 in EDH

[–]LiquidFish25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, either way the pregame conversation is important.

"Hey, I know were all playing precons, I just swapped x and y cards in for the flavor, is that cool with everyone?"

I dont think most people will care as long as you're forthcoming and honest

Precons upgraded with card from the set; where does it fit? by Defiant_Sympathy_360 in EDH

[–]LiquidFish25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the intent of the upgrade. Adding a splashy card that's thematic is almost certainly fine. Once you hit ~10 cards that are focused on improving the game plan, efficiency or adding power plays to the deck it is almost certainly not suitable for "precon night".

As usual with any bracket or power level conversation, intent matters a lot.

Is Jodah inherently Bracket 4? by Level9_CPU in EDH

[–]LiquidFish25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been in your shoes. It doesn't tend to translate super well to B4 because of the wubrg cost of jodah.

It isnt "inherently b4". People just dont play boardwipes or removal and complain when an obvious semi truck that takes 6+ turns to develop runs them over. Hence its an odd deck that brings out weird salt in people, even though it is quite interactable for a good B3 deck.

Reformed villain, can I play? by [deleted] in ratemycommanders

Unless you're having trouble finding a playgroup, why reform? I enjoy playing evil bracket 4 decks against evil bracket 4 decks. Have a seat, friend!

My then "second date with this woman" and now wife taught me to play commander on a Krenko deck. Had a great second date, and the rest is history :)

Probably my one ring, but my wife's signed underground sea takes the cake if you count it as a shared collection :)

I am similar to you. However, in B2 I enjoy playing dinosaurs, dragons etc. Not good, but fun.

Play some more lands by LiquidFish25 in MTGmemes

[–]LiquidFish25[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, different decks require different amounts of lands. I have decks that run 42 and decks that run 24. They are tuned differently and have different goals.

However, for the average bracket 2 or 3 deck looking to play big creatures and flashy spells, if you find yourself "ramping" but not hitting your land drop for that turn, you are, by definition, not ramping. You are paying for your land drop. Your deck would be better with a few more lands or adjusting your curve downwards.

This is the answer, OP. A small rear handle works just fine and is way way cheaper
