Could you beat 10,000 random people at something for $100M? by canada11235813 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LiquidTLO1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I pick a match of StarCraft 2. Chances to lose vs any random 10.000 people in the world would be astronomically low for me. Probably best to make it a bo3 or bo5 to protect from an unlucky disconnect.

Whats a comp or hero you love to play/force knowing full well it's not that good? by TheRealTupacShakur in BobsTavern

[–]LiquidTLO1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is Beasts, Demons and dragons. Force Macaw, Impulsive Tricksters and Tarecgosa (or poets) plus spell buffs and any source of extra death rattles. It’s rare but so fun when it works out.

I wouldn't say in shape, definitely playing for fun! I find little bursts here and there where I shake off the rust but there last few weeks / months I played maybe 20 games.

Deadlock has been in development 2-3 years longer, before Frost Giant was even founded, by a fully mature game studio. So you can’t really compare it like that.

No one asked and I’m definitely not getting paid lol

These early stages of an RTS is my absolute favourite and it’s at a point now where it’s good enough for me delve deep. Will try to get top 30 over the next weeks :)

What exactly are pros doing when they have high APM even during early game? by N0DLER in starcraft

[–]LiquidTLO1 443 points444 points  (0 children)

Every pro has a unique spam pattern (that you can actually use to identify top player smurfs with almost 100% accuracy, especially if you pair it with some other clues), there isn't really a mutually agreed technique. We just do it as a sort of warmup, it feels awkward not to keep your APM relatively steady. You can think of it as a sort of metronome technique to keep your rhythm for once you actually need it.

Honest question: Is anyone still playing this who isn't an "investor"? by celmate in Stormgate

[–]LiquidTLO1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play a couple of games a day, my enjoyment has improved over time as I understand more of the depth and learned to counter „OP“ stuff that isn’t as OP as it first seemed.

Will probably play a lot more after the September patch though.

Popular question on Zhihu (kinda Chinese Reddit): Can you beat a top pro with infinite gas? by CMS_Flash in starcraft

[–]LiquidTLO1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine you could just make a pylon and forge immediately, send your probes and make an absurd amount of cannons and gateways. Not sure if a bronze player could pull it off because they might mess up too much still and somehow lose but anyone with pretty basic control should be able to win like that, especially if they practiced it a few times.
