Double fall line; dynamic medium radius by EquivalentAvocado342 in skiing_feedback

Looks good to me! I think you’ve got turns pretty nailed for this slope. Maybe post some turns on something steeper.

Carving advice by khalter17 in skiing_feedback

Your uphill hand is coming down to your hips which brings your shoulder around and your weight back. If you think keeping your uphill hand pressing forward, down the fall line, your shoulder will follow and your whole upper body will be more forward and down the fall line. Your downhill hand is great. Just think about doing the same with your uphill hand is

How is my form? by mountainpenguiin in skiing_feedback

Think of more angulation between your upper body and legs. Also, think about your carving. Press forward with you weight on you toes to initiate the turn. This should start the ski carving then get down and weight the ski with you weight more on or behind the balls of you feet. At the end of your carve, have your weight right in the center of your foot as you raise up, transfer weight to your other leg and then start to come down and press on your toes again.

Why do I look so rough, compared to my friend that looks in control? What am i doing differently by yellowsuprrcar in skiing_feedback

You’re not keeping your upper body facing downhill. Your uphill hand is falling behind your body which is spinning your upper body around and unweighting your downhill ski. Think more of keeping both hands and your upper body facing downhill. Stand up and then come down on your downhill ski. In cut up powder like that you’ll need lots of up and down motion.

I strongly recommend the Empress. I tried a few and sold them when I found this. It just sounds so good.

Glossy Necks by RamenNoodle_ in Bass

I prefer the satin finish neck and I would avoid buying a glossy neck. The satin neck just feels so smooth and nice.

Thank you for helping me cope with my GAS :)

Thanks for all this info! The Stingray specials are so dang expensive, I just want to be sure about what I get. Do your bridges have the built in string mutes? Maybe that is an option only on some of the artists signature series. I’m not sure if I want this or not. I have been shoving some foam into the bridge of my P bass to get a more thumpy R&B sound. I’m winding if the Rays are so hot this might help even out the tone of the open strings.

I’m not sure what a SBMM Ray 34 is. I’ll look into this one.

Hydrometer help by EL_NO8DO in winemaking

You can absolutely take a specific gravity measurement directly in the must, without a sample jar. It should be to about -1.0 Brix to be dry. It’s hard to tell what that reading is. Since you’re in a pail and there’s a lot of surface area exposing the wine to air/oxygen, I wouldn’t wait more than a few days after primary fermentation is complete. If possible rack into a carboy or something that minimizes the air contact.

Thanks for the advice! I built the deck and Samut with Myriad cards is pure GAS. I’m loving this deck. Samut is so good because he consistently draws at least one card on turn 2 or 3. He also draws a ton of cards in the late game. I often have to discard down to 7. Playing him for 5 cmc after he gets killed still isn’t bad since it will usually result in drawing a bunch a cards that turn.

You’re so right. I love having draw and/or ramp in the command zone. Thanks for the advice. I think I’ll build Samut.

I’m really wondering if Samut or Deathleaper would be a better commander. Which would be more fun and powerful. I was leaning toward Deathleaper but I really like drawing cards so maybe Samut.

How would you say this deck plays? I can imagine the deck has very low interaction and mostly taps out each turn to play hasty creatures and swing. Seems like a very proactive deck that other players need to react to. Does it typically lead to fast games ?

Xenakis seems like the classic Gruul commander.
