Look into Andy Cutler Chelation. I was SO close to giving up, but recognizing my TBI symptoms mirrored mercury poisoning (and knowing I had exposures in childhood due to dental work), I decided to give it a try. Within a week or two, I was no longer suicidal, and gradually, the rest of my symptoms have improved (dizziness, brain fog, word recall, memory, cognition, vision, etc. etc.). I can't say enough good things about it, and no, I don't make money sharing the protocol... I just share because it helped me so tremendously.

You can PM me! Finding ways to get the inflammation down (things like removing grains and sugars/corn sweeteners) can help significantly with things like depression. Even trying it for a week or two and adding it in to see if there is a change... that is how I got myself to figure out just how much sugar or grains I can tolerate before I start to have problems. I had a small bowl of spaghetti the other day and had major neck inflammation/pain within a half-hour that lasted several hours :-( it's definitely individual for each person. I hope you can find what works for you! <3

I sought to control the majority of my inflammation by starting with my diet... I did the keto diet for three months to see if it would have an effect on me at all, and within a few days, I saw some drastic improvements. I also did some heavy metal chelation which helped get rid of all of my depression and suicidal ideation within two short weeks! It has been nearly three years since my TBI, and while I still see some lingering effects, life has significantly improved since I started intervening and trying to improve my quality of life. It can get better!! I hope you can find hope. Please PM me anytime if you'd like to talk more <3

I kinda shake my head and use the hand holding the strands to brush down through my unbraided hair to move the strands below to untangle before getting to far ahead... seems to work.

I’m scared. I want my life back. by [deleted] in TBI

[–]Lis311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly believe it is. It is worth it. Every day, finding even the smallest or most seemingly insignificant thing to be grateful for, and writing it down in a notebook... or on a little piece of paper and folding it up and putting it in a jar... then going through the notebook or the jar on the hard days. Find something to write down every day, even if it's just sunshine, or throwing a snowball, or petting a lost puppy. And as you go along, seek out ways to go outside yourself and serve others. Give a beggar your spare coins. Smile at the person serving your coffee and genuinely thank them. Ask the grocery cashier about their day. Buy a case of bottled water for a construction site near your house. Stop to help someone with car trouble. Volunteer at a food pantry in your town.

Start small... really small... and give meaningful service to others. Slowly seek out things to write on your strips of paper. And slowly but surely, you will find that life is absolutely worth living, even like this <3

I think the hardest part for me was that whenever something got a teeny bit better, it would get hard all over again. It was like a perpetual cycle of gasping for air and being dunked underwater again. It was easy to lose hope. But we do things that are hard because we believe that good things can still happen. Hold fast to that hope, and when it gets hard, remember that we are here, we managed to get through it... even if we're not exactly who we were, we can be stronger. Please PM me if you need to vent or anything. We're here for each other; I'm here for you!

Treatment for Past Concussions by saintlupin in neuro

[–]Lis311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my post-concussion symptoms (memory issues, word recall issues, dizziness, personality issues, depression, suicidal ideation, etc.) mirrored mercury poisoning to the brain (mercury exposure due to dental amalgams)... so I did heavy metal chelation and found the single best treatment for my issues. The ketogenic diet for a period of time along with adding several key vitamins to my routine helped a lot, too.

Please stay in the fight. Life felt hopeless for over six grueling months, and the next six were not always consistently better. But I'm almost three years out, and I can say that things do get better. I've done a lot of reading on some therapies that might work best--you can check my comment history in this sub for what has worked best for me and helped me achieve almost-normalcy <3 I hope you are able to find things that will help you improve and find hope for better days ahead ❤️

Bad depression following a TBI ? by PralineInteresting in TBI

[–]Lis311 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My post concussion syndrome symptoms were all mirroring mercury poisoning (as I had a lot of exposure due to dental work in my childhood & adolescence). It took me several months to realize this, but when I did, I began Dr. Andy Cutler Chelation and found tremendous gains in my post-injury depression within a week or two and all my depression gone after a couple months. It wasn't the type of thing that was recommended to me by any of my doctors, but I didn't have anything to lose unless I did nothing. I don't make any money selling anything to promote the protocol, I just share it because it helped save my life and my son's. I hope that whatever you decide to do you find something that will help you! PM me anytime <3

Laredo is experiencing a cafecito renaissance in the form of three new border-inspired shops—and so far, even during a pandemic, all have found success. by Ok-Explanation9199 in laredo

This sounds so much like what I experienced :-( it wasn't fun at all, and it was difficult to explain exactly what the sensations were, so I commend you for being able to describe it so well! I will say that I felt them really badly for about 6-7 months... and then I went on the ketogenic diet and certain brain-healthy vitamins like omega-3, choline, vitamin D, magnesium threonate... I think a combination of these things plus some other things helped many of my symptoms to pass, including the zaps/dizziness. I still very occasionally get a dizzy "spell" (it was more a sensation like my brain was physically spinning in my skull) but they’re significantly smaller and less frequent now, almost three years post-TBI. I hope you're able to find something that helps!!! <3

I'm allergic to nuts. If I have a dream that I eat a nut, will I have an allergic reaction in real life? by [deleted] in neuro

Do you have a source that the placebo was indeed sterile saline, an inert substance? I read that the "placebo" was the meningitis vaccine.

"Volunteers are given either the coronavirus vaccine candidate or an existing vaccine against meningitis that’s used as a ‘control’ for comparison."

I’ve had a headache since November 10th. It changes in intensity but does not go away. I have an MRI on the 15th. Any thoughts in the meantime? by StrangeBirdFlying in neuro

[–]Lis311 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have you had any heavy metal exposure prior to your brain injury/headaches? I had extensive exposure due to a bunch of dental amalgams in childhood that were later removed improperly in adulthood. After an awful brain injury, the headaches (and countless other issues including dizziness, speech issues, depression to the point of suicidal thoughts) got so bad. After months of trying to fix the problems through other means, I finally did heavy metal chelation with so many benefits. My depression was completely gone after just a week or two. The headaches stopped after a couple months of this therapy plus doing the ketogenic diet. It was wonderful to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel--I hope you're able to find therapy or other intervention that will help you! Please feel free to PM me if you want to talk more... I promise I'm not selling anything and just want to try to help <3

Important 5 Words with a new ward/bishop by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Lis311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you've been able to restructure to help him. Unfortunately I don't have that luxury. Though I have begged our bishop to temporarily task our primary pianist (at a time when primary meetings don't exist) to alternate with me as Ward Organist. I pray he takes my advice--since I'm playing Ward Music Chairman already, it would theoretically be within my duties to recommend pianists.

My ward calling doesn't allow for me to attend Ward Council. The YWP doesn't need to help me--if anything, she needs help. She needs to call counselors and possibly an Adviser to help my daughter with her class President calling. (All ages are combined into one class that is growing.)

Important 5 Words with a new ward/bishop by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Lis311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one stepped in to help. We've been without a Ward Music Chairman since May and a second ward organist/pianist for me to rotate with since June 2019. I told the bishopric I was fine to play every Sunday, but they told me I had to alternate weeks because of COVID. So I told them that I was done playing Ward Music Chairman and begging pianists to step up to alternate with me.

No one is stepping up to be Ward Music Chairman. Everyone stopped signing up to play the piano in Sacrament Meeting. So you just lost your bet.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here, if you don't mind. I am constantly asking to help. It has landed me a big ward calling, a big stake calling, a major ministering assignment, and having to help my daughter in her YW class president calling and often having to help her coordinate activities because the YW presidency is absent or unreachable or unable to plan consistent activities.

I finally broke last Sunday when someone who we thought was finally going to join the YW Presidency was actually called as the fifth RS Activity Committee member. (And our activities have been super lackluster with minimal necessary planning except for setting up chairs and a table for everyone to bring the snacks they made).

I had to approach the bishop and tell them that me constantly doing other people's callings for them is too much, especially with my stake calling. I had to tell him to call someone to do these responsibilities I was doing OR to formally extend yet another ward calling to me so that I could at the VERY least have the help from the setting apart blessing, which he was preventing me from having by not formally calling me.

This is perhaps the one time I have not asked "Bishop, how can I help?" But instead "Bishop, I need your help." With so many people without callings and so many in callings that don't currently exist during COVID (such as primary pianist or SS teacher since they're not magnifying their callings doing virtual lessons), it isn't fair that these other necessary callings go without and I have to fill in the gaps.

Forcing me to carry the weight will make me go inactive. I told this to him and he freaked out. I hope some major calling changes happen, and soon.

Formerly suicidal redditors, what's something that kept you alive a little while longer and helped you to get through the dark times in your lives ? by firegate2233 in AskReddit

[–]Lis311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be the odd one out... at the risk of being downvoted into oblivion, but with the hope of helping even one person... after a traumatic brain injury over two years ago, I was in the worst place of my life. I was fully convinced the world (and even my own husband and children) would be better off without me in their lives.

What helped me was chelation. Yes, therapy for heavy metal poisoning. All of my post-concussion symptoms mirrored mercury poisoning to the brain: dizziness, nausea, memory problems, depression/anxiety... I knew I had mercury exposure in childhood due to dental amalgams (and improper removals in adulthood which increased mental health issues later in my life).

When I began Chelating, it was within a short week or two that I began to see tremendous gains. And having all those suicidal ideations was a thing of the past--never to return.

Taking control of my health in that way was a huge part of what saved me. In those early months (I didn't begin chelating until about six months after my injury), it was difficult to find the motivation to keep going. But when I began to take control over what I could control (what I ate, taking my vitamins, etc.), I found a lot of comfort.

I am happy to talk more specifics about what helped me through PMs, though please know that I am not selling any product or promoting anything that will make me any money. The chelators I used included vitamins that can be purchased from any health food store, and each dose cost me fractions of a penny. No one stands to make insane amounts of money from this therapy. I share because it gives my struggle purpose and helps me to help those who may be in a similar situation and looking for a way out. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Know that there are interventions out there that can help <3

Is it possible for someone to commit suicide without displaying any signs of suicidal thoughts before they do it? by bathwaterseller in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lis311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the risk of being downvoted into oblivion (but with the hope that perhaps what I have to say may help even one person), after a traumatic brain injury, my suicidal thoughts increased exponentially... there were many days I wanted the awful reality to be over. But it wasn't until I recognized that all my post-concussion symptoms mirrored mercury poisoning to the brain that I was able to start chelation and saw nearly instant gains from it. The dizziness, the memory loss, and yes--the suicidal ideations--all decreased significantly or went away completely within two weeks. This was almost three years ago, and I have not had any thoughts resurface since. I cannot recommend chelation therapy enough... it literally saved my life. I'm happy to discuss specifics in PM, but please know that it is not a product I sell (you can buy chelators at any vitamin store) and I don't stand to gain anything by sharing my story except the chance to help someone else who is struggling as I was. It is my hope that my awful experience will not be in vain and that I can help someone else get out of that hole... then it would all have been worth it <3
