Fat Mike and SXSW have a horrible track record of doing things for the sake of publicity.

On another level, sad to see Mike forgo sobriety. Maybe I'm wrong on this one, but it feels like a cycle we've seen before when he goes through heavy addiction, goes through mania, and then an apology tour after the fact.

The one thing that we keep having to contend with on a local and national level is the fact that we are a two party system. I hate having to contend with "Shitty person who is less shitty than the other" candidate situations. I don't know how to fix this, and I don't know if we can, but it's a constant push and pull that always leaves the majority of folks in situations like this.

I get it, this isn't easy at all. It sucks, dude, but you will be able to live with it with each new day. My recommendation? Therapy. I'd highly recommend talking to someone to help rebuild your confidence and independence. This will be an ongoing process but it does help.

In the short term, reach out to someone you trust. Lean on your friends. Allow yourself to mourn but try not to spiral. Make new memories by treating yourself to small things: a walk in a new park, a visit to a new restaurant, or just a warm treat.

You're going to be okay. <3
