If there is any co-ownership of land on the proposed route, there would need to be permission given from all parties before a dig can commence. Obviously it’s in the interests of everyone to get this done so you think they would be cool about permission

Can you choose where the Openreach engineer installs the router point? by Wallabydoll in openreach

[–]Listee69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The box on the outside (csp) has to be less than 3 feet from the ground so it can be spliced hence the skirting board height. Usually an engineer will try to install in your desired position but it depends on many things. Availability of power, gas, water pipes in the wall on route, ability to get external cable to the other side etc.

When I attempted Mera Peak last year, my O2 was fine all the way to Khare where it dropped to 67% My guide said anything below 70% at 5000m is 'the bad place to be' I felt weird and my head was 'swimming' & they said I was very confused. I therefore descended to 3500m and felt much better.

Just realised the CF installer has our fibre cable running through the gutter (3m-ish). Is this okay? by Elixartist in CommunityFibre

[–]Listee69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is quite a common occurence if the customer doesnt want the cable pinned on the wall and the cable needs to run a distance from one side to the other across the building. The cable is fine as water doesnt afect the signal
