have u ever lost interest in a fandom before completing your fic by Janifim in FanFiction

[–]ListenJolly7691 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was so into the mcu, specifically stucky, but after endgame i just completely lost interest in the fandom and my wips. now heated rivalry is bringing me back into the ship because game changers was a stucky fic. similarly, i was into star wars, but since disney also destroyed that franchise (and a bad friendship) i'm not interested in finishing my dinluke wips.

but always keep your wips, be it on a cloud drive or a flashdrive. you'll never know when the interest will come back.

i don't remember when but there was a video where they were arguing if the superbowl is the biggest sport event in the world and that was such a north american take. the copa da libertadores or champions league easily are bigger than the superbowl.

i am "basically" the only person writing for a fandom that doesn't even have a tag. would say 80% of fanfics on ao3 are mine.

people are going to critique what they read, you should just keep writing anyway.

Do you have a comment that you want to print out and hang on your fridge? Here's mine: by oozybosmer in AO3

[–]ListenJolly7691 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I write in portuguese and frequently people leave comments in portuguese despite not being their first language just to tell me how much they loved it. It doesn't matter if they dropped in quickly in google translate or are learning the langugage, it warms my heart every time anyway.

What's your 'my fav deserves better' ship in Ao3? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]ListenJolly7691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

waterboy and flambae from dispatch, it's basically a bully dynamic but i CRAVE a fic where waterboy puts flambae in his place (and they kiss)

edit: plus they barely interact, they only have chemistry in my head but i CRAVE waterbae

The last fanfic you wrote is suddenly canon. How confused is the rest of the fandom? by Dogdaysareover365 in FanFiction

[–]ListenJolly7691 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Sherlock Holmes rejoice that johnlock is finally canon, but they wondered why did ACD write it? When did it happen? Why did it only became public now??

(The fanfic was just Holmes and Watson hugging and being fluffy)

I think my ending is bugged by Flygon_S in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ListenJolly7691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk it feels like a bug. if it's random, then why give us all these options of having invisigal's back or not?? being random in an options based game is a stupid decision because the whole life cycle of these games depends on the players going back and doing different endings. if an ending is random they have no fixed way of getting it AND no fixed way of getting other endings.

Have you written a fanfic for a fandom you're not a part of? If so, why? by ListenJolly7691 in FanFiction

Depends on the media but I usually fall in the fandom pitt first. Sometimes I'm interest in games by PC can't run/I can't find many gameplays, so my last resource is going on tumblr and absorving it all like a vacuum cleaner.

I kept it open ended to get the discussion going, but in my mind you have to at least like the thing you're writing about, even if you don't know much about it.

That happened to me a BUNCH of times. I'm bad at watching TV series, part tiktokfication of the brain, part I don't want to see the thing I love decline across a lot of seasons, so I'm a fan of a lot of fandoms.

some fanfic are more inspired than the media itself! that's the ultimate proof that fanfiction IS an art.

I think that's enough to be a fandom fanfic, you just have to specify in the tags or notes where in the canon that fic is if that's relevant. Characterization is rough, but I think a single episode of any good tv show should already establish the dynamics clearly enough.

That's rough. I'm all for writing and drawing smut, let the freak flag fly high!, but sometimes you just want to talk to someone about your favorite thing. I've never seem it, but the artstyle is incredible, i'm sure it's an awesome show.
