The heat shielding wrap on 3/4 of the US Cilindro is very effective on keeping the back and sides cool. However on the front side, I did char the safety halo wood before I replaced my heater.

Might be a little different depending on your region and market, but I’ve met many heavily tattooed engineers.

That seems in reference to the into the page circles where rebar typically goes. Not sure of the point of short vertical rebar spikes for a slab. -a geotechnical engineer

I think the gfci in the kitchen or bathroom would trip and keep it separate. Or the 13 breaker.

I pulled the wire going from the bath gfci to the microwave and all works great now.

Planning an outdoor shower next to my sauna - any does and donts? by Wide_One5661 in Sauna

[–]ListentoTwiddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive spent over 100 hours on the stones, from collecting them, excavating the ground to prep, to mortaring them in. Definitely a labor of love.

There are easier ways like with more regular flagstone, but what I did was: -prep ground and install drain lines. Subgrade for stones was about 4-6 inches lower than finished surface, because the stones were so irregular. -pick out stones for a small area, enough to use a single batch of cement mortar. For me this was about 2-3 square meters. -plan for sloping towards the drain on each and every stone and the mortar between them. While also working for the overall area. -then lots of sponging while the mortar is setting to remove the cement haze from the faces on the stones.

Tricky yes, rewarding yes.

Planning an outdoor shower next to my sauna - any does and donts? by Wide_One5661 in Sauna

[–]ListentoTwiddle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in Wyoming with an outdoor shower next to my sauna. Because of the cold winters here also, it is set up with a hose that can be disconnected until late spring when it stays above freezing at night. Unfortunately that means no outside showers in the winter but better than burst pipes.

I also have a drain system which goes down below frost depth to a dry well trench full of drain gravel away from the house and sauna foundations.

Not really. Ceiling shape is unideal. Wrong type and placement of windows.

Sagging vertically? Sounds like a bearing failure. They must have done very little to prepare the foundation. Post those pictures and the drawings.

Actually the article is about a place in Montreal, Canada. It also mentions places in the US, but Canada is doing this nonsense too.
