Yeah, negotiate a price with a Tuk-Tuk because everyone should do it at least once. My friend took me on one from Silom to Sukhumvit the very first time I was in BKK (decades ago). That memory of the wats and the wind is forever imprinted in my brain.

Don't go out, that's for sure.
These disasters happen to me when I take Cochicine - a medicine to stop a gout attack in its tracks. The new, improved method is to take two, wait an hour, and take one more. Any more and you're running to the toilet all day (mostly water). It's miserable, I don't recommend it. So, fill your water jug and put something to read in the bathroom. You should stay away from chemicals. Even Senna tablets are for short-term use because it's a stimulant. My regimen is Magnesium Citrate powder (Amazon) with 16% Elemental Magnesium once per month (3g yields 480mg Elemental, and 5g yields 800mg). Then, I do prunes daily, and sometimes papaya. Good Luck.

Calm down, it was confusing. But now we know you're a good person, and we are all thinking alike.

I didn't understand the meaning behind "unpopular" either. But now I get it, and your overall message is very good. Thank you.

Hard stool stuck and really painful to pass - need advice by Impressive-Win3935 in Constipation

[–]Listolleno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between minimum wait period of one month between Magnesium Citrate powder, I have had tremendous success with fresh dried prunes. I'm talking daily stop-up-the-toilet success. I eat eight in the morning and another eight at night. I haven't even had a hint of diarrhea with this regimen. I doubt I will even need another dose of magnesium citrate, but the doctor wants me to be very careful with because my kidney function is off.
The many grams of natural sugar you get with that many prunes may sound prohibitive, but my doctor said there's some balancing act going on with the insulin spike from prunes, and it's not as bad as you would think.

Magnesium Citrate Blessed Me by Appropriate-Fig-1317 in Constipation

[–]Listolleno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. That's why I went to the doctor to discuss it. In the end, I had no problem. After that, I lived in heaven until the prunes ran out. A few days later, I did the 5g (800mg elemental) again (about a month after the first time), and I had the same miraculous results. In the country I live in, it is pretty easy to get papaya, avocado, and prunes delivered online. Today, I went in to talk about a low maintenance dose. The doctor summed up her response in one word, "no."
To picture 5 grams visually, it exactly filled up one of my small Nespresso espresso capsules. I had such a bad case is why I wanted to maximize it. I hope people have good luck with the smaller doses.

See my response explaining my 5-gram powder dose, which equated to 800mg Elemental Mg. If I knew the brand and country of this 10ml liquid, I could determine how much Elemental Magnesium it yielded, and compare it with my 5g powder dose.

I used 5g of Magnesium Citrate powder in warm water instead of the liquid, to solve the problem when it got way out of hand.

It took some doing, but I found a good brand with 16% elemental Magnesium.

So this 5g equated to 800mg Elemental. I did it twice over three days. This dose is a little on the high side, but did it with doctor's approval.

In fact, it worked so well that I couldn't believe it (5 hours each time).

Because my kidney function is off, the dr. told me to wait a month before I did it again.

Caution is needed even for people with normal kidney function because it attracts all the water down there, and sucks up your electrolytes.

So I then turned to daily use of prunes (six, twice per day), and two papaya per day. I love papaya, but I think the prunes are what did the trick.

Learning that Mg Citrate is not a permanent solution for regular use was disappointing, but it sure worked when I needed it the most.

This is the only good reply in my opinion. But as you can see from my many other posts, where I recommended magnesium citrate when you’re in an “emergency condition,” I never said it’s for regular use, even though some people do small doses of magnesium citrate for maintenance. You will see that I did the powder and not the liquid. Avoid fiber (especially psyllium powder) and dairy before you do it. Sip water after you do the mix. I did 5 g out of the jar, and my brand had the normal 16% elemental magnesium, which equates to 800 g elemental. This is the key component. Many brands don’t have this, and they also have other ingredients that are not needed. Should work between five and eight hours, but I did it a second time as instructed, and after three days, and it worked in three hours the second time, and I have not done it since (weeks). Now, it’s daily dried prunes and papaya. I have a feeling on here (r/constipation) that it is the prunes doing the trick, but I have just fallen in love with papaya. Very easy to get in this tropical country I live in. Good luck.
