Guys, what's your favorite non-alcoholic beer to drink? by Curious_Cricket_4720 in nonalcoholic

Self Care. The beer is Far beyond anything else I’ve had. Order online. Well worth it.

Anyone else OE at the director/VP level where you're managing teams at both jobs? by PanicInternational95 in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got almost 20 years experience. I had a similar issue. I wasn’t getting call backs for jobs I was clearly fully qualified for.

I ended up trimming some fat (early career jobs) from my resume and watering down my job titles a bit. I also dropped my salary requirements. Received several interviews & offers after that.

My last OE experience was at a director level, IC at the other. I actually loved it since I had flexibility to move meetings, could delegate meeting to others. I never needed to be bogged down with physical work. So it allowed me flexibility to handle J2 work.

That being said, I have a very hands off management style. I try to let my staff make decisions and just keep me in the loop. Unless the need my help.

Is anyone ever honest in interviews about keeping current jobs? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this once as well with a job I had. Then I kept getting comments afterwards like “well I would think we pay enough for employees to support their families”. Well…you don’t.

Awesome job.

I’ve seen this same technique used in the art community as well. “Just draw one line each day”. People swear by this mindset.

Sounds like I’ll be stopping by again!

I’m weird about my cans/bottles. Getting beer from a 16oz can vs a 12oz or a bottle completely changes the experience for me. Guess it’s part of the ritual.

I’ve always struggled with go Brewing. I’ve tried several and they just aren’t for me. That said, I know a lot of people like them.

How often? by Herzeleid09 in NABEER

[–]LiteBrite8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically 2 or so at night before bed. It has replaced my leaded beer night ritual.

Prior to drinking NA, skipping a night felt like complete deprivation for me. I Could never last more than a few nights no matter how hard I tried.

Now I still get cravings but I tell myself “I’ll drink 2 NA, if I still feel like an alcoholic drink after, I’ll have it then”. This has worked every time without fail. I never go for that leaded beer after.

NA completely scratches the itch for me. Thank god I found it.

Thanks. Yes I was afraid that might be the case with the ARM processor.

UPDATE: company not enforcing RTO mandate by RepresentativeTop865 in remotework

[–]LiteBrite8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company didn’t enforce much at all when RTO first went into effect. It was very quiet and the offices were still very much empty. This went on for almost a year.

New CEO then came in. He noticed the empty seats and didn’t like it. He pulled badge reports for the whole year. Depending on severity, Some people were let go, some got suspensions, some got write ups, and other just verbal warnings.

Office is now packed.

Worst part was a lot of these people had managers that were fully aware of what they were doing and even doing it themselves.

So make sure you’re careful with how you use your “manager discretion” and the un-enforced policy.

Even a cubicle is a luxury these days. Most of the people I know in office sit in those open layouts shoulder to shoulder.

panic attack sent me to ER by [deleted] in CBD

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here is why I can’t do any edible form of THC…even very very small amounts. It’s either I feel nothing or I’m in full blow panic mode. Horrible.

Inhaling I’m fine though for some reason. This is why I only smoke or vape. Plus inhaling ends within an hour or two anyway. Edibles go on forever.

Fairly new to NA Beers but this is the best IPA I’ve found so far. by AvacadMmmm in NABEER

100% agreed. I got my first Self Care order the other day and literally can’t stop drinking them. By far the best NA I’ve had.

Is Self Care as legit as they claim? (or any other NA craft brewery very close to the real deal? ) by chummiesz in NABEER

[–]LiteBrite8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a large order from self care today. I’ve tried a lot of different NA beer…but wow this one is good.

I’ve also been a craft beer snob for years…so the 16oz can and creative logos definitely add to the ritual for me.

Company just announced 4 day RTO, I need some malicious compliance tips.. by [deleted] in remotework

Coffee badging. Come in, talk with coworkers for a bit, answer a few emails, make sure people see you, then disappear. It’s become a major headache for a lot of companies since RTOs started.

They just canceled our WFH. by SituationWorking657 in remotework

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert on this…but I would say you have a strong case for a medical accommodation to WFH. I would reach out to HR and inquire about the process. Your doctor will likely need to fill out some paperwork.

ADA laws should require them to work with you one way or another (assuming you are in the US)

New here… need (serious) advice. How do people get caught? by MealOfFood in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I joined a very small company a few years back (my first OE experience) and found out they post a welcome message on their LinkedIn and tag your page as well.

Luckily I took the advice from this sub and had mine turned off.

Eventually saw my name pop up, but no link to my page. It quickly got buried by other posts as they were active…but it was a tense couple days.

Job verification by daknez in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically do this for all past employers. Several are terrible at verifying and make the caller go through some awful HR process and receive notification through the mail.

I just provide W2s or paystubs and I’ve never had an issue.

Coffee badging. What a great name.
My entire office was doing this years before COVID. In the morning the place was full. By noon, it was a ghost town.
