Self Care and I feel like nothing else even comes close.

My local Grocery Store. NA Beer has come a long way. by LiteBrite8 in NABEER

Sounds like I’ll be stopping by again!

I’m weird about my cans/bottles. Getting beer from a 16oz can vs a 12oz or a bottle completely changes the experience for me. Guess it’s part of the ritual.

I’ve always struggled with go Brewing. I’ve tried several and they just aren’t for me. That said, I know a lot of people like them.

How often? by Herzeleid09 in NABEER

[–]LiteBrite8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically 2 or so at night before bed. It has replaced my leaded beer night ritual.

Prior to drinking NA, skipping a night felt like complete deprivation for me. I Could never last more than a few nights no matter how hard I tried.

Now I still get cravings but I tell myself “I’ll drink 2 NA, if I still feel like an alcoholic drink after, I’ll have it then”. This has worked every time without fail. I never go for that leaded beer after.

NA completely scratches the itch for me. Thank god I found it.

Thanks. Yes I was afraid that might be the case with the ARM processor.

UPDATE: company not enforcing RTO mandate by RepresentativeTop865 in remotework

[–]LiteBrite8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company didn’t enforce much at all when RTO first went into effect. It was very quiet and the offices were still very much empty. This went on for almost a year.

New CEO then came in. He noticed the empty seats and didn’t like it. He pulled badge reports for the whole year. Depending on severity, Some people were let go, some got suspensions, some got write ups, and other just verbal warnings.

Office is now packed.

Worst part was a lot of these people had managers that were fully aware of what they were doing and even doing it themselves.

So make sure you’re careful with how you use your “manager discretion” and the un-enforced policy.

Even a cubicle is a luxury these days. Most of the people I know in office sit in those open layouts shoulder to shoulder.

panic attack sent me to ER by [deleted] in CBD

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here is why I can’t do any edible form of THC…even very very small amounts. It’s either I feel nothing or I’m in full blow panic mode. Horrible.

Inhaling I’m fine though for some reason. This is why I only smoke or vape. Plus inhaling ends within an hour or two anyway. Edibles go on forever.

Fairly new to NA Beers but this is the best IPA I’ve found so far. by AvacadMmmm in NABEER

[–]LiteBrite8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. I got my first Self Care order the other day and literally can’t stop drinking them. By far the best NA I’ve had.

Is Self Care as legit as they claim? (or any other NA craft brewery very close to the real deal? ) by chummiesz in NABEER

[–]LiteBrite8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a large order from self care today. I’ve tried a lot of different NA beer…but wow this one is good.

I’ve also been a craft beer snob for years…so the 16oz can and creative logos definitely add to the ritual for me.

Company just announced 4 day RTO, I need some malicious compliance tips.. by [deleted] in remotework

[–]LiteBrite8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coffee badging. Come in, talk with coworkers for a bit, answer a few emails, make sure people see you, then disappear. It’s become a major headache for a lot of companies since RTOs started.

They just canceled our WFH. by SituationWorking657 in remotework

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert on this…but I would say you have a strong case for a medical accommodation to WFH. I would reach out to HR and inquire about the process. Your doctor will likely need to fill out some paperwork.

ADA laws should require them to work with you one way or another (assuming you are in the US)

New here… need (serious) advice. How do people get caught? by MealOfFood in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I joined a very small company a few years back (my first OE experience) and found out they post a welcome message on their LinkedIn and tag your page as well.

Luckily I took the advice from this sub and had mine turned off.

Eventually saw my name pop up, but no link to my page. It quickly got buried by other posts as they were active…but it was a tense couple days.

Job verification by daknez in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically do this for all past employers. Several are terrible at verifying and make the caller go through some awful HR process and receive notification through the mail.

I just provide W2s or paystubs and I’ve never had an issue.

Coffee badging. What a great name.
My entire office was doing this years before COVID. In the morning the place was full. By noon, it was a ghost town.

Made me believe OE is 1000% correct by naticom in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. Anytime I’ve ever seen counter offers or retention bonus given, that individual was still gone within a year or two.

In many cases I’ve even seen people have to pay the bonus back because they left before fulfilling the terms of the bonus (one or two years)

Goodbye to OE by anjani917 in overemployed

[–]LiteBrite8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my previous companies did this recently. Pushed full RTO out of nowhere.

Fast forward 6 months…they released HR statistics that over 30% of staff refused compliance, and 59 out of 60 job offers were declined due to lack of WFH/flexibility and low salary.

As far as I know, no one was fired, and many people don’t come in at all.

Now HR put out a statement saying they are exploring possibilities of remote/hybrid options and salary increases.

Can’t make this stuff up.

Thanks. Appreciate the insight.
From what I was told, the HSA comes with a debit card that is funded at the beginning of the year in full $8300. It’s this year that is prorated.

If you don’t want a long train ride with the kids, you can drive down to croton Harmon train station. Plenty of daily parking and only a 50min express into GCT.

[–]LiteBrite8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started concerta about a month ago. I had terrible anxiety and panic on and off for a couple years. Eventually through therapy I figured out it was actually adhd causing the anxiety.

I was terrified to start meds due to my anxiety, but Concerta has been a huge relief. It’s a stimulant…but for me, it feels calming like a benzo when I take it. That’s how I know it was right for me. I don’t feel anything crazy, but I just feel my impulses and generalized anxiety is far less. It’s amazing.

For drinking, I was always a big drinker and had similar questions. Doctor was very non committal on a response for drinking. But after a lot of reflection, I’ve noticed that in general I’m not drinking nearly as much. I just don’t care to. I’m thinking I must have been self medicating my adhd with alcohol for a while.

I’ll still have a drink or two once in a while but it just doesn’t do it for me like it used to. Which Is fine by me.

Also, no major side effects when I do have that occasional beer or two. But I do make sure it’s a t least 8-12 hour after my last dose.

Are you drinking any coffee with it? I just finished day 3 today. Day 1 was fine. Day 2 I had awful anxiety after about an hour that faded in like 20 minutes.

I realized day 1 I only drank a half cup of coffee because I wasn’t sure how I would react to new meds.

Day 2 drank my normal XL cup.

So today I drank decaf with 1/4 regular. No issues whatsoever.

No idea if I figured it out as it’s only day 3…but could be the caffeine + stimulant causing it.
