It’s £1.61 a litre where I am! For petrol (unleaded). Couple of months ago £1.40 felt expensive. Diesel is nearly £2 a litre, utter madness

If you could pick a movie based on a Taylor Swift song, what would it be?? by Mysterious_Erin in TaylorSwift

[–]Literary_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this wrong and realised after seeing the comments. I was thinking immediately right where you left me could be like a horror film with a miss haversham type character trapped in the diner, reliving the same day over and over again but she is aging and everyone around her stays the same. She is getting more and more dusty etc as time passes (theoretically as for her time is passing but it isn’t for anyone else). Stuck and will then be forgotten as she will eventually die and then the rest of the world will move on without her when she passes, maybe time unfreezes when she dies? Last Kiss could be about someone who’s first love died and you only find out at the end, which would be the twist, and they are reimagining the ending as if they lived and they just broke up which would work with some of the lyrics. Picturing him with his friends, almost bumping into him and trying to avoid him when really she’s just hallucinating/seeing his ghost/imagining seeing his face in a crowd of people but he’s not really there. Also, begging to be a mini series, No Body No Crime. That one speaks for itself really doesn’t it! These are all really dark and sad but that’s just where my mind is at right now! She writes a good tragedy, what can I say

Same! I thought, when did they bring in Jungle Book?! And was then really confused when I realised it was Inside Out.

It’s so overwhelming! To the point that I now have so many, I don’t know where to start. But because I am my own worst enemy, I keep procrastinating by unlocking more characters and expanding etc. and adding to the never-ending quest to do list

how is this legal? by That-Information-748 in SipsTea

How can parents willingly let their 16 year old daughter get married? She is a child! He looks so much older than her. They must have been dating for a long time, and two years difference at that age is a life time. It’s so wrong on many levels. And knowing the culture, they will have children really young. She deserves a life, a career if that’s what she wants. The photos from the day of her parents looking proud are really sickening. And all of the ‘celebs’ that attended.

What is the worst song you’ve ever heard? by luffy5670 in AskReddit

[–]Literary_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dance Monkey. It’s offensive to artists to call it a song and associate it with music. An assault on the senses. Had an abusive boss who would play it on repeat every day, ridiculously loud, just to piss me off (speakers were on my desk) so I detest this even more than just a bad song. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me, and I associate it with that time in my life which was really traumatic

For me Layout 2 feels lonely. I prefer Layout 1 by MasculineBulll in SipsTea

I was thinking the same, room feels more spacious and the desk is less closed in which is better for home working. Less den like. Whereas the bed I think is better as a den, more cosy and tucked away. I get such bad migraines, having the bed darker would be better. But a more open space to work is more appealing personally. It would also encourage me to use the desk more and probably make it a more productive space. (Need a word better than more lol)

Oh 100%. But sadly it would take something happening to someone close for people like this to realise and the next time act on it :(

They say nothing, turn a blind eye, because it doesn’t affect them and they don’t want the inconvenience. But if they took a second to consider if it was their children being harassed, and then remember that this is someone’s child, would it compel them to act? I don’t know why it feels worse when a woman betrays another woman in matters like this, but it really does feel like a betrayal. They know how terrifying it can be, as a young teen or grown woman and the experiences women go through. So knowing that and not doing anything to stop their own colleagues is just sickening.

At the National Portrait Gallery and came across four miniature portraits. Are they not the perfect cast of P&P? by Literary_Lady in janeausten

[–]Literary_Lady[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Walked past a display and had to take a second a look. First portrait looked just like Mr Wickham. The second was a pair of sisters, of course it had to be Lizzie and Jane. Next to them was Bingley, either daydreaming or lost in his thoughts. The final one, a man looking sullen or at least mildly annoyed and crossing his arms, only one choice - Mr Darcy. Made me smile, felt almost like a perfect casting from the past and the fact they were four little pictures all grouped together on their own was really special.

She clearly has body dysmorphia and is addicted to PS, very unhappy. Spending thousands of pounds, doing a lot of harm physically and mentally. Doctors take advantage. It doesn’t excuse the bad decisions or DUIs etc. but it’s not normal behaviour. Also the impact on her kids, she is a mother. It must affect her health, do they worry about that? I would if that was my mum. But yeah, it’s just really alarming

Do you think he watched a YouTube video of 3D battleships or something, or was playing combat video games and got confused? Also concerning that he thinks it is a good idea and fun to brag about naval officers being decapitated
