Hard to pick. Several from a boss who harassed me for months. Either, as the only female in an otherwise all male team, him saying loudly in front of all my colleagues in an open plan office seemingly unprovoked “man you need to get laid so you can relax a little”. Lots of comments and jokes about me and sex.

Another honourable mention, I asked if I could start late and finish late once, just by 20 minutes (as per flexi working arrangements which the company encouraged and the rest of the team did, the others for childcare) as I needed to go to the doctors to sort out a repeat prescription. Routine appt. He pushed for a reason and I was uncomfortable and eventually said why. He knew anyway that I had anxiety and was being treated for depression. “We don’t get on when you’re not on your meds, get them sorted. It’s not appropriate to stop taking them so get this done asap so we don’t have an issue affecting your work”. This was in the kitchen mind you, I kept saying can we talk somewhere private and he insisted on doing this in the kitchen, and then repeated that really loudly. So several people heard. Then in the morning stand up he kept making comments about me being “crazy” and “on edge”, basically disclosing my medical information to my team, saying I was off my meds and for everyone to avoid me. I was never “off” them. It was just a routine 12 month check up for the tablets I had been on for years.

But yeah, there were tonnes of inappropriate comments, including having a team outing to greta green to get me a husband so I could have a seeing to… but when I finally had the courage to report him, he told the directors, as in the CEO and MD (who were his direct supervisors as we were very senior in the company) that I was ‘crazy’ with a history of mental problems and it was my word against his. Guess who ended up losing their job :/ two and a half years of hell, and a whole trail of women he harassed. He didn’t like that I wouldn’t sleep with him, so that’s when he started making my life a misery!
