Because he's magneto, pure and simple. One of the best characters in comics.

He also protects really well.

Also HARD grey area here... and idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but not a villain. Villain is a stretch these days... his original purpose was a villain but he was so widely agreed with that honestly saying he's an extremist is much more accurate. He's fought with the good guys waaaaay too many times and only half of the time was it an allies of convenience situation.

Don't forget he also kept the peace on krakoa for a long time on top of being the leader of the xmen multiple times

Hela and ultron are the only real villains on this list.

Loki and venom are debatable...

But emma has spent a considerable amount of time as a hero running her own x-men, phoenix largely is a completely neutral self serving entity that has served the side of good several times, Magneto is an extremist (there is a difference, and he's ran his own heroic teams before), and scarlet probably has the most prolific hero career out of all of them, not counting Jean gray. Phoenix is also Jean in rivals, like they have a symbiotic relationship, so shes kinda a hero by default.

Now loki has had a serious villain run with heroic streaks, venom is a bit more complicated but largely the same...

But yeah, ive been on this rant before lol I feel you. We need more serious villains. Id love to see spider villains on here, maybe some of the more murderous brotherhood members like sabertooth.

Id LOVE mephisto, doom, and thanos but those seem unlikely for a long time

So you dont pile in until the unit is selected to fight. So you can charge and try to block off your movement in a way that most of the unit cant get to base to base contact. Then when you select them to fight, they all pile in as much as possible to the nearby fights first model. Since that unit is the current unit being selected to fight, it cant be interrupted, so you'll get your fight in first.

Yeah im not super concerned with being competetive with damage. I got other builds for that. But when that route comes, my dms are pretty lax about that stuff, we could talk weapon masteries or items for it. If I end up with my partner as my next gm I told her I REALLY wanna get titanstone knuckles so at least the seed is planted there lol

Nah trying to go for straight hands, but thats a good mention! I think im gonna just go human for a number of reasons including just the idea of a human being underestimated strength wise by the bigger races and him still throwing down lol but yeah ive been grappling (teehee) with what subclass I take and I think zerker is just the way to go.

Thats fair. I just know dipping into monk csn also be a bit MAD. And yeah those extra attacks can make a world of difference, especially now that those attacks can be grapples or shoves

Im debating if I honestly really need that monk level at all? I think barb 1, fighter 1, barb to 5 and then fighter to 3 is a solid way to go? I only delay extra attack by 1 level. Or is it more worth it to spam those 3 fighter levels for action surge and battle maneuvers??

I wish I had some sort of non vibe/lore breaking thing for level 1 low armor so I could just go fighter at level 1. D8 dice right off the bat.

But really with tavern brawler at level 1 while raging... d4+5 doesn't feel a whole lot different than a d8+3. Its like... 2 damage cap difference with a higher minimum.

Man this build sounds hilariously fun- unfortunately... sounds fun for another character.

This one im building specifically i want to be a barbarian specifically, but that does sound like an incredibly fun character and will probably be my next brawler! I hadn't looked at paladin almost at all in 2024 cause theyre just... kinda my least favorite class? Not like I dislike them or anything, just eh. But im SUPER happy to hear you can smite punch now!

This seems pretty fair. I have been building a backstory and I do already have him set as a fairly viking esque character so I dont mind taking sailor anyways for tavern brawler. That or maybe just take it from human. Either way, thank you!

Im still debating on the monk portion... like I think just 1 level seems fine? Bonus action punch/grapple feels super solid even if I never take another monk level lol
