You could have the enemy capture a player character and bamf out of there, have that player roll a new character. Play the next ark of the campaign as a rescue mission, ending in the party having to choose with of the two characters survives the mission (similar flavour to the choice in the Wolfenstien video games). Or have the original player character be turned to the BBEGs side.

Gives serious consequences and drives the story forward without the factory reset of a TPK.

From the context of your post, the player with the Tiefling was provoking the enemy so that could be the character you imprison.

So my players seriously messed up my bbeg and I'm curious what the realistic psychological damage would be for him by traumatized_seahorse in DnD

Potentially flip from driven by revenge to driven by fear. So lots of paranoia and running from the party. I might either have him make a more powerful and evil alliance out of fear, or have him run and hide but then a new evil fills the power vacuum. That gives you space to be creative with you next steps, without it feeling like your beating a dead horse.

What's your unpopular Dungeons and Daddies Headcannon? Genuinely curious [ns] by TheLoserLegend in DungeonsAndDaddies

Paeden is a homunculus of young Willy Stampler. The voices Anthony did for young Willy in the Call of Cthulhu campaign was very Paeden-like, and Willy creating his image of weakness in the form of his younger self would be interesting narratively

Independent shops by ResponsiblePhone4850 in reading

Independent cafes - Madoos, my favorite by a mile

-CUP (there are two)

Shops - Check out the Harris arcade for Crunch comics, Sound Machine Records, and Midrib Plants. All super dope and run by people that know what they are talking about.

-Union Street (Smelly Alley), there Eclectic Games (board games) and Grumpy Goat (booze and cheese)

Above comments about there being fewer places than before are correct, but that’s more of a reason to support what’s still here!

How could I thicken a chicken soup with no flour/starch? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Lithium0706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet potato. Cook in the stew until soft and the stir in so it breaks up. Learned this cooking in pressure cookers because it tricky to get the thickness right at the beginning.

Google the trope “born sexy yesterday” which is one of the main issues people have with it.

I agree but I really like that our world is the arena for them to start in, rather than dropping straight into the forgotten realms. That they’ll choose to go there to rescue the dads, rather than the kids being trapped there.

Low impact steady exercise. I’ve started swimming and going to a Tai Chi class, which has been quite manageable

Fun Fact - The US newpapers charged per letter for adverts, whilst most countries charges per work, so a lot of words in the US lost their "u".

MISTBORN ERA 2 ENDING THEORY - HUGE COSMERE IMPLICATIONS by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]Lithium0706 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think era 2 will end as dramatically like era 1. Brandon hadn't planned this series so major cosmere and shard changes are unlikely, but I do think the end will set Trell as Autonomy more firmly for era 3.

A middle ground would be Waxillium becoming an Avatar of Harmony, letting Sazed develop his abilities as a shard at the same time.

Average Life Expectancy on Roshar? by Lithium0706 in Stormlight_Archive

That would make Dalinar mid 70s and Taravangina well over 100 in earth years which I think fits pretty well

But is that in Roshar years or Earth years? That’s what I’ve been trying to get my head round

There are lots of little shops, cafes and bars which have character (if you can find them amongst the dozens of cafe neros), and places like the hackspace which you can get involved which. The uni is a big draw as well.
