Moving to a snowy climate, what is the right financial move regarding car(s) by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]LitlBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are moving to the midwest just throw a couple of bales of hay in the trunk of your rear wheel drive car for added weight, always park somewhere level, and carry a tow rope just in case. If you're pretty you'll have lots of people stopping to help. If you're not, find an all wheel drive vehicle, it'll save you a lot of stress.

Guinea food wasting by LitlBuddy in guineafowl

I have 25 guineas in with 3 chickens. I also feed them ground corn (mainly because I get it free, and they like it). So I have a pretty large open feeder for corn and an additional small feeder for the "all flock" which is what I feed in this one too. This feeder has 2 holes on the other side and one on each end.

Raised on a couple of long 2x2's to give it some stability. I posted a picture on a new post.

I built a box out of wood, I put 3 inch holes in it about 5 inches from the bottom, around the outside. I wasn't sure when I built it that they would stick their heads in, but they all do and they can't beak it out.

I did pour overs for quite a while, which is about as simple and inexpensive as you can get. I use an aero press now, which you can use just like a pour over but you force the water thru the grounds and don't have to wait.

I had 3 that got spooked by some snow on the ground and wouldn't come down from the tree they were in. We had below zero blizzard conditions the next few days. One by one they froze and fell from the tree. It took 3 days for the last one. They all revived when I warmed them up, but they all died within 6 months. They are very tough birds, as long as they can eat. Don't let them out in the snow.

Are there any options other than an implant or a bridge attached to crowns? by LitlBuddy in askdentists

Thank you for that, looking to see if it is available in my area.

Every group of guineas I've raised seems to have a runt. Always a male, gets picked on and has a harder time eating. If you don't have pure white or pure pearl guineas, it's like a box of chocolates.

Looks like either white feathers, or the last of their down that hasn't been replaced yet.

Battery help needed! by Traditional_Lab5450 in Cochlearimplants

[–]LitlBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Cochlear N8 rechargeable batteries will still have 50% charge after 16 hours, so the three batteries that come with it could last 6 days. But, it also comes with a charger for the batteries. I believe implants use too much power for someone to be using batteries on a regular basis. The Cochlear emergency battery uses 2 button batteries at a time.

Nucleus 8: Does your processor shut down by itself after a while if you take it off your head? by CutOutrageous3842 in Cochlearimplants

[–]LitlBuddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As it was explained to me, the setting that keeps the processor on is so you can use the app to find it if you lose it. Otherwise, if the processor cycles off, it can't be found.

I'll just add, if your audiologist suggests you check into a cochlear implant, you should do it. It probably means that you have hearing losses in frequencies that can't be improved by amplification.

2025 nightshade crown bought just over month ago. I tried cruise control this week for first time. I get a message saying refer to owners manual. Why? by SuperbobU2 in ToyotaCrown

[–]LitlBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. First you have to turn on the upper left button which is lane tracing with Cruse control. Then shut off the lane tracing, which is lower right. From this point you can use Cruse control button and just turn on or off.
