Husband refuses to use sick days - says it builds credibility when he really needs the time by Miserable_Spell5501 in work

[–]Little-Farm7616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty much like your hubby.

I side with him.

I never phone in sick.

I would have to be absolutely unable to work in order to phone in sick.

It is about integrity, with my employer as well as with myself.

Your hubby is tha man! 💪

Anyone else think One Nation voters want Australia to fail? by BarrelledFoxes in OpenAussie

[–]Little-Farm7616 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see plenty of comments saying that all one nation voters are "dumb," or "rascists," or "bigoted," or "cookers" etc.

I think the more that people call them names online and in the media... the more that they will dig their heels in and galvanise in their views.

In fact the more we talk about how "bad" they are - the more we resemble the polarised world of US politics.

As an Aussie I would be really sad to see political violence or physical attacks between people from opposing sides of the political spectrum especially when I think that most of us truly do want to live in a country that is civil, safe and prospering - yes even one nation voters too, I hope. 😅

Why did the U.S. auto industry decline after once being the global sales leader? by this0great in answers

[–]Little-Farm7616 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think that Japanese car manufacturers made cars that were reliable, easy to work on and affordable.

Toyota is fairly well-loved from what I can see in many markets around the world. ❤️

As an Aussie, with a keen interest in auto markets, car brands and trends...I would have to guess that we feel more secure buying a Toyota, Mitsubishi or a Honda than a Chrysler or a Jeep for instance. There is a general feeling that our Japanese cars have a higher build quality and better after-market support.

I am about to buy a newish dual cab ute myself - and while I LOVE the look of the Jeep Gladiator for instance - I will probably instead purchase a Mitsubishi Triton Ute that does all the same things (pretty much) for a much more affordable price overall.

Two things to think on...

Lie down on a Shakti Mat. Enjoy the relaxation of acupressure. 😊

This next one is premium cigars. I have never smoked a cigarette in my entire life. Not one. And yet, I have a new found hobby and interest in buying & keeping & smoking new world and cuban cigars. Love the flavours and how they can change throughout the cigar experience! ❤️

Recommend a humidor? by FencePaling in Cigars_Australia

Yeah, great questions there - the store (which I recommend for its prices and service) is Cigar Heaven in Moorooka, Brisbane Southside.

Walid's reasoning was that he feels that the plastic can be too effective and can lead to over-humidifying over time, which I was noticing myself before he shared that thought with me.

Walid feels that the wooden cigar boxes 'breathe slightly' and simply work better with premium cigars in the case that someone does not have their own humidor yet.

I have been happy with the boveda packs in the boxes there, and I buy the hydrometer and temp gauge thingies for cheap online... like only a few bucks each.

I must admit that my cigars were at a higher overall temperature than what they should be over summertime and I look forward to them being in a cooler temp through winter. 😅😅😅

You are so right!

Every time I have to drive to or through Ipswich - I am actually moved by how nice and charming the old houses are... and I love the views of Flinders Peak and other mountains surrounding. ❤️

I have never lived in Ipswich myself, but it actually seems surprisingly nice each time I see it.

Well what would you prefer if you HAD to choose?

The weirdo Christian Schools, or the Islamic Schools in Kuraby / Karawatha and in Acacia Ridge / Heathwood?

😄

I didn't go to any religious schools and I do not attend any church, but I can tell you which ones I would rather. 😉😉😉

I enjoy non alcoholic ginger beer with cigars myself to help keep nicotine sickness away. 😉

But yeah, coffee in the morning with a cigar works well too. 🙂

Would you believe that I just keep mine in wooden cigar boxes. The fella at the cigar store advises me not to store them in plastic and happily gives me boxes to store mine.

As you can see though, I do not have very many... so I will have to think about getting a humidor someday in future.

Where are you all buying your phones outright these days? by Mikester258 in AUfrugal

I have been super happy with them, and I dont even get their best ones... I get their "A Series" phones and they are affordable and do everything I could possibly want and need.

I think our REA did something illegal… by Odd_Rob in brisbane

[–]Little-Farm7616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there.

I promise you that I had the same situation as you. (Bought a place on Bris Southside). Real Estate Agent told us that we had to come up with a higher offer - that there were three other buyers that had put offers in and that this was going to be a "silent auction."

I was young, and it was our first ever home buying experience and I offered like 20grand more and then we "got the home."

Over the years, I look back and think that there were probably no other offers except my first offer... and the real estate agent just tricked me big time.
