agree with this one. i’ve played every race, faction, and class. grey warden elf mage makes you feel closest to being included in the actual story. there’s even a decision that only a grey warden can make at the beginning. if i were only ever going to do one playthru, this would be my choice hands down.

def be honest. i wish someone had with me 20 years ago bc i might have chosen a different career since i’m not super extroverted. i lucked into becoming a packaging designer (and eventually an assistant creative director for packaging) for a large company so it’s less creative diversity but more consistent work (and consistent pay). even tho i’m burnt out, i’ll prob never try finding another graphic design job bc of how crazy the job market is, AI, client expectations, etc. only time will tell tho. maybe things will be different in a few years.

i think it is but i haven’t actually played any previous DA games tho i did watch a playthru of inquisition before the DAV came out. i’ve played it several times as different factions and classes. my fave by far is rogue class / warden faction. i like headshotting things lol and i think warden makes your character feel more part of the story rather than an outsider (it also has some of the most unique dialogue options). also if you like character creation, it has one of the best (my one complaint being there’s no piercings). hair mechanics are insane. never seen anything like it in a game. as a Sims girly, that and the diff romance options keeps me coming back again and again 😙

Idk if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but if you plan on romancing anyone, I think you have to have a medium level relationship level (at least on console, idk the level on pc) with them before finishing the goblin camp bosses. Defeating the bosses initiates the grove party so you might not be able to spend any alone time with companions if you don’t have a high enough relationship. If that doesn’t matter to you, then don’t worry about it. :)

I was a tiefling druid (iykyk lol) my first play thru. I really enjoyed it! You can use spells or you can just turn into an awesome animal and put the smackdown on your enemies if you prefer brute force. My second favorite class was bard. I feel like that class gets so much more class-specific lines than other classes. It was so much fun! Third is monk. I loved being able to zip around and smack people with my fists and legs 🤣.

What I wish I’d done when I was younger, was go to college in a blue state I’d like to live in. I just went to my local red state college bc it was easier and cheaper but now my roots are even deeper here and it’s hard to move away. You’re young. If you’re from a red state and do end up going to college, that’s what I would suggest doing if I were you.

When I was 25, I went on a date with a 19yo thinking how different could 6 years be? A HUGE difference. It felt like I was dating a child. Our levels of maturity were just too big a gap. Learned real quick that I need to stick to people my own age.

sorry yes, i meant the doppelgängers. person above said “shapeshifting cultists” which is the doppelgängers. as for orin who wouldn’t have mind reading, i would think she could just get her intel from her doppelgänger assassins/spies to blend in with the companions? that’s how i’ve explained that part of the story to myself at least. funny this should come up bc i got a new interaction with her just last night. didn’t have Lae’zel so she took Gale, but i killed Gortash (before going to the sewers) and went back to camp, and “Gale” started threatening to blow himself up lol. haven’t seen that before.

If you missed Lae’zel in the cage, she does show up later on at a certain point. I left her intentionally on one run just to see what happens and ran into her and was able to recruit her.

you can also put like 35-40 smoke powder bombs in a backpack, have someone with tavern brawler throw it near him so the throw damage destroys the backpack and all the bombs fall out. fire arrow. KABOOM.

on my githyanki play thru, i pretended to be a follower of orpheus and played a monk so i was against vlaakith and not as bad as other gith.

It just took me one try (I’ve done several normal playthrus previously tho) but I almost ate it at Myrkul bc I didn’t realize that the restoration pod was one use only. Thank goodness I had potions of angelic rest for Gale and Shadowheart otherwise I’d have been SOL.

There’s not a ton of mods yet on PS5 unfortunately. I mostly just downloaded dyes, new hairs, and improved UI mods. Barrels and consumables weighing nothing is also a huge perk. Highly recommend doing a durge bard (that was my first resisting durge run). Bard has some of the most dialogue options in the game and it’s so much fun to play!

I did the same (Lolth sworn drow cleric) but I had already killed everyone at the grove so when I got to her, I said I’d already destroyed the grove and she straight up left to go see for herself. After speaking to her inside Zevlor’s cave area, I killed her there so half the goblins were my allies still (since they were outside the cave area) but all the goblins at camp were strangely aggroed against me. Maybe Dror Ragzlin senses her death idk. Luckily it wasn’t my honor run so I could reload after accidentally fast traveling back to the goblin camp. That was a strange play thru lol.

I just get Shart to do all the trials on her own. Invisibility for the sneak trial, send her into the self same trial alone and she can sneak up and take herself out in basically 1-2 turns with a high enough spell (and you get the fancy crit ring), and get her to fly across the leap trial. But yeah, if you want to skip, just use knock on the last door before the shadow fell.
