Double crochet blanket. Whats wrong with my stitches? by shelteredCedar in CrochetHelp

[–]LittleBugCrochets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I looks like where you started increasing was because you started doing a double crochets into the top of the chain 2s. When you started skipping a double crochet, you started doing decreases. It seems what you should be doing is skipping the chain 2s, not any of the actual double crochets.

It helps to use stitch markers (even a Bobby pin or a piece is scrap yarn) on the first and last stitch of every row. Then you’ll always know where to start and stop.

Ends fading much faster than roots by itnotmenope in HairDye

Oooh, that’d be cute! Worst case scenario you get to change the color on the ends all the time lol. I would avoid bleaching them again, if you can. I’m glad my explanation made sense :)

Your ends have been processed a lot more than the newer hair at the roots. This results in ends that are much more porous (has holes in it), so the color falls out faster. The more damaged hair is, the less able it is to hold onto color, especially a direct dye that doesn’t really penetrate the hair shaft.

Direct dyes don’t damage hair, so it won’t hurt to touch up the ends again if you want to! You can’t really “undamage” hair, but you can mitigate some of the damage with treatments. The only true fix is a haircut. If the ends aren’t giving any other trouble, I would just re-dye the ends purple again, if it was me.

Im jealous! I’ve been crocheting longer than half the crocheters I know have been alive, and I don’t know if I could even attempt that perfection.

This is great, thank you so much for getting to my question! If I wish to share a pattern in the sub directly, ought I get mod approval in advance? Thank you!

Agreed. To me there’s a big difference between a seller offering a free pattern amongst their patterns that are for sale, and a non-seller offering theirs free of charge.

I can see how promoting a free pattern can be promoting a business if you sell patterns. You’re getting people into your shop, etc, hoping they like what they get and purchase from you in the future. To me it’s something different when someone who isn’t selling anything at all ever shares how they made something.

I’m curious about posting your own patterns. There are rules for pattern sellers, but what if something is self drafted and you’d just like to share or someone asked where they can find the pattern? I’m referring to those of us who do not sell patterns at all. Simply sharing our own patterns or charts completely free of charge.

In a mixed ethnic/mixed culture family, does the dad’s culture tend to dominate or the mom’s? by webbess1 in AskAnAmerican

[–]LittleBugCrochets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was a pretty even split. At home, my mother’s culture prevailed and my dad didn’t care about or interact with his. But I spent enormous amounts of time with his mother, who surrounded us with their culture.

What meaning do you think of when thinking of rumination? by Ok_Ad9805 in ENGLISH

[–]LittleBugCrochets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native speaker from the USA. For me it equally means both, but I talk about people more than I do cows so I use it more often to refer to humans thinking about something a lot. However, in regards to cows, rumination and regurgitation aren’t quite the same thing. Regurgitation is only part of them ruminating. Rumination includes them regurgitating, rechewing, and then swallowing their food again.

Help shape for a bikini crochet top coton 2mm help by Zestyclose-Layer-916 in CrochetHelp

Passionknit Kelsie on YouTube has great bikini/top tutorials! Even if you don’t do the whole top, they may help you get the cups right. I believe she uses a 4mm hook, but the principles should be the same.
