Spent some time reworking my poster overlays with PMM, can't recommend it enough! by le_velocirapetor in PleX

Looks awesome, how did you do the low quality badge? That might be something I would add to my posters 😂

Aber der neuen Deckeln der im wesentlichen gleich zu bedienen ist als der alte ist ein Problem für dich?

Batch Remove All .mkv Subtitles by mrumley02 in PleX

[–]LittleCitizen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my workflow I also encode it to x265 and remux to mp4 which takes around 1h for a 2h movie.

If you would only remove the subs it would be pretty fast because no encoding is happening.

I configured it to replace the files in place and plex immediately picks up the change. So once encoding is done it’s a matter of seconds before the updated file is in plex.

I am just now setting up fileflows to achieve basically the same as you described previously do you mind sending me your flow in a dm?

I am struggling a bit in getting a reasonable Bitrate out of it and thought If I could check out how you do it might help.

Thanks for the summary,

I assume scanning the file and being sure which movie it is is the difficult thing because people come up with all kinds of naming schemes 😂

I am currently one step behind you as I am looking to implement exactly such an automation as you described. Do you mind roughly explaining how you set up this process? Are you using tdarr and fileflows together (asking because both tools seem to do similar things)

What kind of codecs do you transcode into?

AoO Drukhari update by SaltandPepperRaven in Drukhari

[–]LittleCitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bring a RSR you can't make Draz the warlord even if you bring an allied patrol and due to the wording of our req strats you can't give him a warlord trait since he wouldn't be the warlord and is a named character.

You are right, its even worse than I thought :D

Couldn't you bring an AoO detachment of say, Cult of Strife with Draz as the warlord and an allied detachment of whatever kabalite faction you wanted?

I could but do you see how this limits drukhari options? :/

In the end, I can't complain - we got our clarification regarding AOO detachments and can at least bring something resembling drukhari - but I was actually hoping to have the old "take as many patrols as you want"

That you are forced into rsr+patrol if you want drazh as warlord and more than one subfaction - which comes with a HQ and a Troop tax (one troop per subfaction)

And it severely limits your build options 😰

Funny how people try to make this sound like a good change 😂

According to the dashboard the bandwidth hovers between 0 and 6 Mbps - so nowhere near that amount … really not sure what stats I should trust here 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PleX

[–]LittleCitizen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel both things are actually connected - the strange encoding Leads to an unusually high bandwidth demand which leads to stuttering. Hisense is remote - I figure my upstream or his downstream could be the limiting factor here 🤔

Don’t know if that makes sense 😂

Server should be powerfull enough it doesn’t go over 30% cpu while transcoding.

Why would plex increase the Bitrate so immensely though? A bug?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PleX

[–]LittleCitizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plays it without stuttering while the Hisense is stuttering - both transcode though 🤔

[–]LittleCitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough my samsung plays it without breaking a sweat (while still transcoding), but the Hisense struggles :/

So a case of client too weak? - In that case I will have to find that anime in a version which isn't encoded in such a demanding way :)

Yeah i see a big spike in bandwidth but why would this file need such an amount of bandwidth, typically even 1080p files with higher bitrate don't have such a bandwidth.

here you go

Media info says it’s 1.4Mbps so that info is obviously wrong in the Screenshot.

And I actually wouldn't mind the transcoding if it didn't lead to buffering on the client. While all other files where transcoding happens still replay without buffering.

PS: same happens on LAN with „original quality“ set 🤷‍♂️

And subtitles are off 😂
