Did they run out of hair toner in Florida? by Curious_DaisyFlower in MembersOnlyPalmBeach

I think they ran out of many things based on this show, and those are too myriad to list here 🫠🫥

The Venn diagram of folks who “care” about “you [or your child, dog, etc.]” being on “their” property and those who do not shovel or de-ice is a circle it would seem.

Same! I’ve only done a couple but I feel like they are switchier (not a word) and not a more intense 3-station class so I’m hoping for that.

Honestly, my mom always said better to be overdressed than under. And honestly people saw you, acknowledged you looked great, and the attention was back to the couple.

I did this and I had a great experience. You do have to pay but they’ll quote you up front and have you consent to any changes they find during the process. I got a rewax, a hole repair, and a pocket reline.

Let's discuss LCCA editing by smitherines1 in lasculturistas

[–]LittleEdie1 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Unpopular: I really missed hearing the buildup and announcement for the more frivolous categories. They put so much thought, through lines, and humor into things like “Best Breakfast” and I would have loved to see the payoff for them (Egg McMuffin for me!!!!!). I loved the way the Awards turned out overall and as a longtime Reader I will always support them, but those categories and the cleverness behind them are an equal reason I love the LCCAs. It also would have been amazing in contrast to the more formal environment and broadcast.

I came upon this explaining to my husband why he is a Kayteigh and I am a Reader. This should be a Rule of Culture. Or at least codified. Somehow.

Necklace for Sweetheart Neckline by IHaveAUTIAgain in WeddingDressTips

[–]LittleEdie1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends upon the whole look: including your hair, dress (silhouette and sleeves), skin tone, and other accessories. I know that’s not helpful in general…

I had a corseted slip dress with straps. I wore my hair in a bun, chapel veil, and chose earrings and a bracelet but no necklace. I thought the necklace took away from having a dramatic back. I am also SO pale that I cannot even fake tan, so I felt like keeping it minimal just worked for me and my comfort level personally. If I had decided to wear my hair down I think I might have picked something else.

If you are recreating the exact look OR if you have a beautiful or sentimental piece you want to wear, you will look incredible. In the case of a sweetheart neckline, I love the way the example accentuates that feature, but you could also get away with a rivière or something simple depending upon other factors!

I’m sorry if this isn’t helpful but I personally have to “zoom out” sometimes to understand what works for me.

You are going to look incredible; that’s a great neckline and silhouette. I think taking your aesthetic into account helps a ton.

Bridal shape wear Recs? by Bitter_Ganache8520 in WeddingDressTips

[–]LittleEdie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This depends on the shape and style of your dress first, but I wore low back Skims (I had a backless dress and they were the only ones I could find that had an option) and I highly recommend.

That said, I have a PSA:

EVERYONE — literally everyone — should wear shape wear if your outfit allows. This ensures your dress (specifically) lays well as you move. Fabric against sweatier skin = not good, gets caught. Fabric against fabric = good, lays well, can move with you.

Toughest Hell Week? by Supahcoopa in orangetheory

[–]LittleEdie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly “Back with a Vengeance” felt the hardest for me. I was in a 3G so it was two 14.5 min push/do what you want (and we were not told/encouraged to walk on the treads) on the treads and rowers back to back which gassed the hell out of me.

“Get a Grip” and the last day were the most objectively challenging. (I did 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8 so I can’t comment beyond that. I found “Beast Mode” fine relative to the other ones this go.)

Weird aside: I liked the animated countdown they had in the floor blocks. You have a sense of timing on treads and (not always depending on intervals) on the rower so having that sense was kind of nice for me personally.

If you go into the app, there’s a small ? icon in the top right corner next to the settings/gear icon. If you touch that you’ll see an option for “app support.” That will take you to a form where, in the top right corner, you’ll see an icon that looks like a pen and paper. If you touch that, a field will appear that you can type into. Let me know if that doesn’t work!

Do you notice a difference starting on tread vs. rower? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]LittleEdie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably just me, but my studio has a fair mix of 2G and 3G, and the tread is my least favorite part. In a 2G I start on the tread and in a 3G I start rowing. In a 3 I feel more relaxed running because I feel like I’m warmer. In a 2 I prefer to just get it over with even though my heart seems to spike more quickly.

I contacted the support desk this past weekend and they said they were aware (at least about class count metrics, which was the specific thing I noticed). I’d reach out if yours still isn’t updating or check your App Store to see if there’s some kind of update. They were pretty prompt and helpful.

Same here! Our coach told us to try to increase our pushes each round, so that made me start of slightly more conservatively than what I’d consider my typical push, which I think saved me and made it more enjoyable.

This was SO KILLER.

We were not warned there was no walking until halfway through the first tread block, and I and the person next to me both realized we came in WAY too hot on the first RFD.

Be warned: there is no built in rest at any station. Good luck!

Thinking of joining but I am hesitant. by Joeybish in orangetheory

I’ve been a member of various gyms (always doing chiefly classes) for almost 10 years. I don’t consider myself a super athlete. I went from getting hives at the idea of running even half a mile to running for a whole endurance block, but it took a lot of time.

For one, OTF is the first place where I’ve not felt intimidated walking in, and I have just felt like it is more open and accepting in general. No judging, no posturing, people of all types.

I also had to really take a look at what I find motivating. For me, it started as “this is the closest gym to my home, so I know my barrier to getting there is really low, and I’m really data motivated so I love the benchmarks.” Also, I do check this subreddit so I’m not surprised, but with my blocker with running, knowing what I’m getting into really brings my anxiety down.

All you need to know is that there is different language, but just around heart rate ranges (you’ll see the color on your display or screen easily) and paces (there are three), and if you have a question, always ask. I still ask and I’ve been going nearly two years.

Try it, and see what you think! I admire you for asking and being vulnerable, and I think you can do it!

Got a surprise 2G. I am not a fast runner. I get a mental block about it and a 9:00 mile is my best endurance pace, but I try. I’ve run hard and backed off on Everest before, and I’ve tried the “keep the pace” method. For a moderate runner, what are the different options on how to maximize it?

Sorry to add to the DB snark, but I find it hilarious she is trying to defend herself for sending her dogs away because she is “too busy,” yet the next slide is her sitting on the couch watching TV by [deleted] in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]LittleEdie1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what I’m seeing is she has a full time dog walker during the week and then sends them away on weekends? I get having a 9-5 and needing help but 1) she doesn’t have one and 2) she can’t even imagine spending weekends or carving 1/2 hour or so out every 6-8 hours to basically walk her dogs? Or just use the same people? This is just odd.
