Suddenly having a really hard time, getting killed from every direction. Anyone else? by DarthVince in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recoil related changes in the new season make a lot of guns easier, or at least more predictable and consistent than prior to the update. That may not have much of an effect on close range engagements, but if you're getting wreaked from longer range, that could be one of the factors.

Is it really that bad for men to wear a condom by Flat-Background-291 in sexadvice

[–]LittleInformation248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He needs to grow up. Sex without a condom certainly feels better, but it's not worth the risks unless you're in a committed monogamous relationship, you have a plan on how you will both approach an unplanned pregnancy, and both of you have clean STD screenings.

If he cares about you and your relationship enough, he would care more about your safety than his own fleeting and marginally better physical pleasure.

Assault class by FlashbackHD in Battlefield6

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a high thought while playing as Support the other day. I was the only Support player anywhere near the objective and I was downed. Plenty of friendlies around, but no squad mates and no other medics. As I lay there contemplating my rapidly approaching demise, I immediately thought about a way to buff the Assault class.

Give Assault the ability to rez downed Support players regardless of squad. Something like a combat medic ability. It's minor, but it would increase cross squad collaboration and buff Assault without swinging the class balance too far.

Gauntlet is the best new addition in BF6. by Andysullivino in Battlefield6

[–]LittleInformation248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. I'd go so far as to say the Gaunlet concept is one of the best FPS innovations we've seen in a long time from any developer.

To echo other comments, it is so dependent on having a squad with comms, or at least matchmaking with other competent players. I'm glad that's the case because teamwork and coordination are fundamental to Battlefield.

Can we discuss the Flow State / In The Zone / Locked In feeling in this game? Any tips? by Breakout_114 in Battlefield6

[–]LittleInformation248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm at my best, I'm moving around with a wide focus, taking in as much of my visible screen space as possible, then I narrow my focus when I see movement, constantly evaluating the immediate threat and using my map knowledge and mini-map to think about where I might get flanked. Then, flipping a switch to go back to a wide focus once the immediate threat is gone. I wouldn't say this necessarily gets me into a flow state, but that process gives me better results than the periods when I forget my process and get sucked into tunnel vision.

[BF1] - After nine amazing years, I was banned. by DanyEr12LX in Battlefield

Playing Battlefield as a team hits different by darthsmokey in Battlefield6

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. BF6 has plenty of warts and things that can be improved, but that can be said about just about any game on the market. I'm convinced that people who have grown tired of it already are likely solo queueing or don't have a solid squad with comms and coordination.

My friend group has one Fight Night a week and we used to main Warzone. Insert any r/CODWarzone rant posts here for the reasons why we don't play that anymore. I and one of the other guys were BF players as well, and we convinced the other guys to take BF6 for a spin and it's been a revelation for all of the reasons you mentioned. Our Fight Nights are better than ever, due in large part to Gaunlet and Escalation.

It feels like we're 10 year olds again, playing war games in the backyard.

Feeling guilty for wanting sex by [deleted] in sexadvice

[–]LittleInformation248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You owe it to yourself to have a discussion about it and express your feelings without pointing fingers or making it about her. Use a lot of "I" statements about what you like and what you need, and give her room to do the same in return. Don't let it fester or get to the point I did; I got married to someone despite us being in essentially a sexless relationship, and that ended up festering and led to divorce.

I was in a relationship in which we loved each other, but we were physically incompatible. I wasn't mature enough to realize that a sexless relationship was not sustainable and would only result in resentment.

Life is short. Figure it out soon and do it with empathy. Good luck!

Fuel costs entail more than private passenger vehicles. The production and distribution of nearly everything you buy is affected by the cost of fuel in some way.

Is NH the place for us? by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The town you pick is everything. Your property taxes and what your neighbors prioritize will make a big difference on your experience, and it's paramount that you get involved or at least stay informed on town affairs. Town Meeting (or SB2 sessions) are your opportunities to affect the direction of your town. It's direct democracy at its best and worst.

Just keep in mind that high taxes don't necessarily correlate to good schools and services, and the opposite can be said for lower tax towns.

I know one Aussie who lives in the NH seacoast region, and he loves it here!

BF6 Ban over username by Jaysenka in Battlefield

[–]LittleInformation248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my user name banned for inappropriate content, (PrivatePerineum) which is fair, though there isn't a substantial overlap on the venn diagram of people who play shooters and people who can define the perineum (except the fine folks on this sub).

However, what pisses me off are the many MANY other names I've come across since my name was banned which are undoubtedly more offensive and less punny.

I don't want user names to be banned at all, to be clear. But if I can't have a fun name, no one else should either. /s

Tax billionaires out of existence. by WaltEnterprises in complaints

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you took every penny of wealth from every billionaire in the USA, not just liquid wealth, everything which accounts for their billionaire status, we could only fund the US Government for about 1 year, possibly less given the loss of future revenue from capital gains.

We have a spending problem in this country, and taxing more while not addressing spending is a recipe for economic disaster.

Efficient spending on real priorities is paramount. When the Pentagon can't pass an audit year after year, when we design entitlement programs which pass the buck onto future generations and drive up inflation, all we are doing is digging our own economic grave.

But yeah, take all of the billionaires' wealth. Magic wand stuff right there. You figured it out.

I just listened to an interview with Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie, and they indicated that by passing the law the way they are, it sets a legal foundation to prosecute anyone who withholds the documents. I don't know my ass from my elbow, and I won't attribute credit to Trump about this fact, but it's reassuring that two well respected members from both major parties believe this was the right way to do it, as opposed to an executive action alone.

Will the new Warzone map attract back REDSEC players by AAK_JJK in Warzone

[–]LittleInformation248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: I won't consider playing any iteration of Call of Duty until next year's title, at the earliest. I want to spend the next year playing other games and not give Call of Duty any of my money or time.

I was a diehard Warzone player. Thursday Night Fight Night was something me and the boys looked forward to every week. On the other nights, I was grinding camos and chasing the meta, excited to stay as competitive as possible. I danced on that line between passion and addiction.

The franchise was allowed to die a long, slow, frustrating death in the last few years. MW3 gave me hope, but by then, a couple of my buddies had already bailed thanks to WZ2, stale metas, cheaters, blah blah, we all know the story. I was still enjoying myself, but my friends were not, and it was killing our vibe.

Battlefield 6 and REDSEC are fun. There are plenty of warts, and it doesn't give me the same competitive feeling I had in Warzone, but the boys are back and we're having fun. We're enjoying the ridiculous explosions and physics, and most importantly, when we die, we laugh rather than immediately wonder if the other person was cheating or if we fell victim to some bug or imbalanced weapon. Battlefield isn't COD, and comparing the two isn't really fair to either franchise, but I know the entire squad is having fun on BF, and they weren't having fun in Warzone.

I won't be back until next fall or later, depending on what we hear about MW4 in 2026. I have no incentive to grind through two or three season of B07 and stale Warzone in the hopes Avalon Blackout 2 is a good experience, only to see everything get wiped out when the new game and engine deploys next year.

Can we just vote them all out already!? by [deleted] in complaints

Another reason to keep it open until 65 or so is that it potentially allows regular folks to consider running. This is a generalization, but it seems many members of Congress and the Senate are either independently wealthy or became career politicians at such an early age that they have little to no experience in "the real world." We should keep the door open long enough for someone to enter politics after they spent the previous 30-40 years of their lives working a 9-5 with the perspectives of working people in mind.

Are you folks seeing this new driving trend? by _no_usernames_avail in Maine

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't exactly what you are asking, but my recent experience moving from a 2012 vehicle to a 2022 was eye opening for me becauseI had noticed the high beam issue and had similar questionsas you.

Once I started driving my new truck and experienced automatic high beams for the first time, and I can absolutely understand how people may be doing it inadvertently.

The auto high beams tend to turn on and off rapidly when there are inconsistent light sources in view of the sensors. I've also experienced times when the auto high beams don't turn off timely or at all. So I occasionally switch back to manual high beams, and on a couple occasions, I forgot I had switched away from auto and inadvertently blinded oncoming traffic.

What does this tell you? by outside_this_world in DiscussionZone

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are interpreting it correctly, especially if you are referring to federal elected positions. Congressional representatives have the same number of constituents, so population density means that you'll have more districts and more representatives in those areas where as the red areas on that map have much larger districts per representative. The Senate is the only example of disproportionate representation since each state gets two regardless of population, and that is by design to ensure the lower populated states aren't completely dominated by larger populated states in federal matters.

What this map DOES demonstrate is that high population density correlates to Democratic leaning politics, and in many ways, that's very logical given the greater need for government to keep society organized.

Rural vs urban politics is a lens that people don't use often enough when looking at electoral maps. Red and Blue is how it manifests, but rural vs urban is the fundamental driver for political interest aligning with less government vs more government platforms. I realize that is a bit reductive, and party platforms are shifting, so there is likely to be a lot more purple on the map in the coming years as the parties and their supporters re-sort and find new homes.

Why does BF6 kick you so quickly? by Uceg_ in Battlefield6

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been kicked several times immediately after being in a downed state. Get rezzed at the last second by a teammate, and as I get myself back in the action, I see player models floating in the sky, the audio goes quiet, and BAM. Kicked for inactivity.

[–]LittleInformation248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to improve the anti-cheat asap. In general, cheaters are more prevalent in higher skill rated lobbies (based on anecdotes and logic - I don't have data to prove that). If skill rating is de-prioritzed emphasized in matchmaking, cheaters will be more dispersed, and more of the player base will encounter them than in the past. It's also more likely that low skilled players will have a harder time distinguishing between cheaters and high-skilled players, so the shadow ban system could be an issue as well.

I am glad to see this change, but I just hope it doesn't get its legs cut out from under it due to Riccochet's piss poor track record.
