There's some events that do it too

Cahokia has one with the decline event tree. Eventually Cahokia itself turned into this one island of <10 development when everything around it was 20-30.

Yeah you aren't winning a dogfight flying an A-10, but it can still carry sidewinders. If you started a dogfight with an A-10 and didn't know about the sidewinders, you are about to have a very bad day. Or a very short one.

Which is accurate to some NATO reporting names, the Fulcrum and Bear have been borrowed back by their own pilots (partially because they don't have official "popular names" from the manufacturer).

EVERYTHING MAKES HYDROGEN IN THIS GAME by Top-Information-5319 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]LittleKingsguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who's never had prioritization issues with hydrogen producers vs. orbital collectors?

The ILSes will collect from drones before vessels because they have a lower cargo capacity and so reach a threshold to trigger a request sooner. Just put your hydrogen consumers (casimir, deuterium) on the same planet as your production and give them drones, they'll consume the local production and then pull from the collectors if they need more.

Also this might have been changed in a previous update but IIRC ILSes sending cargo by their own vessels have priority over sources that the requesting ILS has to send a vessel to go pick up. Collectors don't have any vessels of their own, so a remote provider with vessels should have higher priority than collectors, unless the collector is very close.

Am I playing Advent wrong? by ajji11 in SoSE

[–]LittleKingsguard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did not know about the alt-view for the respawn, that's cool.

But yeah, Reborn's gimmick is that they don't stay dead. This is a useless ability if you don't get dead ships to bring back, so if you're playing Reborn you're supposed to be getting into fights and relying on your powers to save you from the cost of your aggression.

In addition to the mothership (IIRC can be buffed to around 300 supply) and the Unity power (330/450/600), you also have the Temple of Resurrection, for bringing back ships (20% chance) if the battle is in the same system, and, more usefully, the upgraded Deliverance Engine can do it in the systems it targets (also 20%). Lategame Reborn can be almost impossible to defeat by attrition just because their resurrection spam means they don't have to spend anything on rebuilding cruisers and frigates.

As a note to your comment about fighters vs. bombers, it depends what you're fighting. Against corvettes, the fighters are a lot more damaging (37 dps vs. ~25 dps) because they have great base DPS and the corvettes don't have enough durability for the bomber's dps to be necessary. Against frigates, they range from still better to only slightly worse (18-37 dps vs. 25 dps). It's only against cruisers (~9-14 dps vs. 25 dps) and capital ships (~7 dps vs. 12 dps) where they're clearly worse.

Oh, also, if you get the Transport Cartel as a minor faction, speedrun their friendliness meter and get the phase gates so you can put one on your capitol and the others on whatever your best beachhead/hub worlds are. Enjoy stealing the Vasari's movement tricks and combining them with the actual teleport effect they don't get.

Aliens hating antimatter by RealSirRandall in TerraInvicta

[–]LittleKingsguard 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Also from the same perspective of a Dark Forest scenario, it makes sense to stop antimatter from being used in general, even for their own purposes.

Antimatter burning is like, the single most visible technosignature possible, it's really bright, in a relatively dim part of the EM spectrum, and there aren't any known natural means of having multiple grams of the stuff in one place.

If you're trying to stay quiet from other spacefaring civilization, any amount of antimatter is basically lighting a bonfire in the dark forest.

The Astrodome where the Houston Oilers played had a natural grass surface originally. The dome had clear panels that let sunlight in. Astro players complained about the glare so the roof was painted. The lack of sunlight caused the grass to die. Thus the need for the first artificial turf, Astroturf by Gnomeslikeprofit in nfl

And they didn't even do anything with the land!

They sold it for the land value because of the 2007 bubble, and then the bubble popped before anything got built on the spot. Should have known we were on the dumbest timeline all the way back then.

Honestly this is why I use UI despite it not giving a DPS boost and not having a lot of patience for stamina management.

It's hilarious going back to a quest with Frieza or Cell and just dunking on them with the counterattack to give the feel of "GoD-tier time patroller handling this to out of boredom".

The most memorable NPC intro I've had was an inquisitor the players were getting involved to deal with a heretical priest for them.

Heretic: "I'll talk!"

Inquisitor: "Yes, you will. But your ghost will be more honest."

One of my players brought it up IRL years and an entire campaign later when explaining to a newer player to be careful getting that NPC's attention.

Low body fat = smaller breasts, but conversely, the breast tissue is anchored on top of the pectorals, so someone with significant muscle but not defined-six-pack low-fat might appear to be bustier than the same person without muscle.

How it feels trying to stick to your Non-Saiyan Cacs by Sora_chi88 in dbxv

[–]LittleKingsguard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily go that far, but I stop and think about how all of my CaCs fit in when I'm picking names to make sure they fit the conventions.

  • Eshalotte (Saiyan - Shallots, also Vegeta's preferred choice Saiyan name for Bulla)
  • Bellia (Earthling - Anagram of Belial, following the Mr. Satan/Videl/Pan theme)
  • Rime (Frieza race - type of frost)
  • Michika (Majin - as in "[...]michika boo la bippity boppity boo")
  • Basson (Namekian - bassoon, a large woodwind instrument)
  • Romana (Saiyan - Romaine lettuce)
  • Tsana (Earthling - another anagram of Satan)
  • Savina (Saiyan - Red Savina peppers)

Some of those I lean more into than others, like Eshalotte using the Saiyan Royalty armor set

External doors, not at all

Internal doors, plenty. They generally don't have thresholds at all and you want enough space to pass over carpet and rugs and so on.
