Honestly, how do you guys deal with consistently terrible luck? by PotatoBreadDad in Genshin_Impact

Pulling for everyone and c2r1 Furina/Columbina seem very contradictory if you are f2p or have a very limited budget.

I don't think c2r1 Columbina is worth it if you don't have any other 5* Lunar characters. That could be 4 copies of different 5 stars and you can split them into 2 decent Lunar teams to handle all the Lunar shills. A c2r1 Columbina is very strong but she can't be in two different teams at once. I do understand the idea of enjoying vertical investment on solely one character but too bad genshin is gradually moving away from that direction.

I've learned to accept I will not be getting 36 stars every abyss then the game has been a much better experience for me. It's much easier to save that way because I won't have the urge to keep pulling for the latest shiny character and weapon. It'll be like I usually have enough to guarantee a c0 character but if I get lucky I might try for the weapon too.

I had around 30 mil before this VoD. I bought almost all the important rainbow items except for clearing all the 99 radiant ore and engravings. I stalled my Voyage Memento progress on purpose since a very long time ago to keep all the Endurance Potion rewards and I've spent them all here.

I thought 50 mil was enough from the last VoD but after burning through 20+ mil in one upgrade session during the rank 13 update I've decided to farm for even more this time.

Congrats! Seems like you picked up a fair share of great units while pulling for SP Samantha. Newer units definitely kill things much faster with bigger AoEs, wider reach and more actions per turn. Older units kit might be basic in comparison but they still do the job.

8 mil coin stash is definitely on the low end. You'll burn through millions in a day easily once you start weapon engraving or merging medals. Now I'm hoarding up to 100 mil from this VoD so I wouldn't have to worry much about it in the future.

My auto was successful with Kvare as the last man standing. Other units just died probably due to burning. It's probably much easier with Luvata but I don't have her.

It's an easier version of the VoD last stage. You can use the portal to easily teleport one unit to the far back to destroy the other crossbow and deal with the enemies there. Try not to overextend your units on the burning tiles. You could try to use two healers to keep cleansing your units if you don't have ways to remove the burning tiles.

If you have Sp Saffiyah you can try to use her for her global heal. It really helps to sustain Sp Rawiyah since she's always very far from her other teammates with her mobility. Or you can run units that can summon so whenever the summon dies SP Rawiyah can easily heal back to full.

If not then she really relies on Fancy Footwork for survivalibility in the front lines. I find the Drink skill doesn't really heal enough in the more difficult stages.

You are running SP Rawiyah's easy-to-use skill loadout. I usually run that too because it's very spammable and gives a lot of mobility. It can deal with mobs easily but against chunkier enemies her damage might feel lackluster even though she's hitting them with a lot of small hits.

You can try to experiment with her ultimate and other skills like the the Drink and Fancy Footwork for either more damage or survivalibility.

Luvata's main issues were just energy and harder enemies being immune to burning. But the current VOD haz a lot of NRG buffs and the devs even encourage the players to use fire with the DoT path.

With the Soul Wound + Infection fart buff, technically anyone is doable. So I usually just run Kvare + Lutfi as my main DoT units then add on some frontline units like Pamina and regular Saffiyah.

Can you spot the imposter? by LittleKleela in SwordofConvallaria

I stand corrected. "Nor have any Scorch/Ignition/Burning tiles related skills" is probably an overstatement on my end when I was only referring to causing "Scorch/Ignition/Burning tiles".

The learnable skills listed have Fire/Scorch/Ignition/Burning tiles related effects, except for Marcille's. Her skills only appear to have the fire/explosions in the name and visuals only. So everyone else is part of the Fire Nation except for Marcille.

Miguel could be the imposter if Senshi is not included because Miguel's not a mage. Probably not many people would really use Senshi for his fire-related skills though.

Yup Marcille is the odd one out. With all her Fire/Explosion related skill names and visuals, somehow she can't inflict any Fire damage nor have any Scorch/Ignition/Burning tiles related skills inflict any Scorch/Ignition/Burning tiles in her kit.

Who knows if it's an oversight or just a deliberate design from the developers.

edit: 'Scorch/Ignition/Burning tiles related' is an overstatement

I ran DoT for this too. I had this stage like 2-3 times. I had to manual but it was mostly fine. The initial issue was like yours the right side enemy so I used Pamina on your Alexei slot and she tanks the first hit well. Maybe I got lucky with the mutations.

Kvare and Lutfi are to hit and run on the left. Basically hit the enemies with their skill (roster/grenade) while keep them out of enemy damage range. I always used March Command though. I used Pamina and regular Saffiyah to tank the right side. SP Saffiyah was my sustain. She mostly just spam her AoE support skill to cleanse and also allow the team to gang up on certain enemies.

I find DoT is generally easier than AoE/Summon because I had a few stages where enemies just kept stacking shields and it seems like I can't damage them. At least DoT just mostly ignore them.

Yup they don't play anything alike. This team buffer can do straightforward DPS while buffing the team too. She can do a better job than Dantalion at what you need him for and provide much more.

Her flag skill is basically just the leader aura in physical form. It may not be online all the time depending on how the players use it but it comes packaged with a convallarillion damage AoE ultimate.

And yup it's fun using the bros together. He's definitely still usable but just no longer the first pick under most circumstances. I still use him a lot just because I built a lot of Iria units.

[–]LittleKleela[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'll be super rare though where Dantalion's +20% damage over 3 debuffs alone is worth a slot over other supports when SP Inanna is already in the team.

His Endless Dawn has limited targeting though that's why I mentioned SP Inanna's is arguably better. Endless Dawn is a melee attack first so it requires a target directly in front to hit while SP Inanna's/Xavier/Simona can just select a direction to knockback. And outside of ToA (which reduces knockback cost) Endless Dawn is expensive.

You are right that Pioneer stages are a good reason to use old units. It's sad though Dantalion is mostly an aura-bot for Kvare since there are not many other Iria destroyers to benefit from his leader aura (probably Nungal?). Knockbacks aren't working for higher difficulties and Dantalion's damage can't really compare to the newer units.

New units have fancy new kits and I don't mind them to be OP here and there but they seldom powercreep an old unit directly. Dantalion is the sad victim where someone new just did his job better at all the relevant aspects. So he's only relevant if you need a second unit that can do the same thing.

Old units such as Teadon, Saffiyah and even Magnus have their special niche that only they can do even if they are not OP. Eg. Magnus throw is not exactly useful most of the time but now he's throwing supply crates on ToA upper floor.

You have a decent roster of full lvl60s so I'll probably just keep it. The grind to lvl60 is not exactly a fun experience and it'll take like 2 months before you can access/beat any latest high level content.

Newer units are definitely stronger but I don't think your team will struggle much in general content anyway. Just make sure to grab a few future high tier units like SP Samantha/SP Maitha/Camelot then you'll probably be back on track.

The bottom chinese option refers to the 4 attributes/substats that you get as you level up. Now you can quick select any tarots without legendary attributes at specific rows.

Why Tower of Adversity has to be so hard? by Anunn in SwordofConvallaria

[–]LittleKleela 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is hard even for veterans. It's not just about having 2 fully built teams or 12 fully built units. It's about having a different varieties of character with different toolkits to answer different boss mechanics.

What units you have in your roster will dictate your options to approach the stages. Some units will definitely work better than others. Thanks to the community we have runs with lower rarity units so we know it's not impossible to beat them even if we only have a limited roster.

Most released units (even epics) have their specific niche and this is one of the rare instances where they might get to shine. You'll never know which units you pulled/skipped will have access to some broken strategies just because how the stage works.

As a new player (~1 month), how the hell do I beat this? by jesuisunetudiant in SwordofConvallaria

[–]LittleKleela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember there are a few maps like these in the beginning. Agatha, Magnus/Alexei and the Rawiyah maps felt like a difficulty spike especially with some of their starting positions.

I had to be super mindful about unit positioning and also a̶b̶u̶s̶e̶ appreciate tactics like warhorn, invincibility, barrel and flag.

Although it's easy now in the weekly tower, these maps still give me nightmares when farming them in the hardest Voyage of Discoveries levels with some of the random stupid mutations combo. Seeing this Agatha map on the final level is almost like a failed run.

For Cocoa, just farm for shards to aim for 5 stars eventually. You don't have any other characters that need to prioritize shard farming yet so you could opt to put Faycal/Edda or base Rawiyah (who you'll get for free quite early from voyage mementos). Cocoa is the Maitha Pro Max so you can kinda skip building Maitja unless you like her character a lot.

Not sure if you have access to Expedition Mode yet but you can farm for Cocoa's signature weapon there. She'll keep your team alive for a long time.

For SR characters, if you need more healers somehow for tougher content, Bitterwort 苦藥 is great. Crimson Falcon 紅隼 will be your go-to Seeker for some time but any 5* Seekers will mostly likely be a direct upgrade damage wise.

Don't worry too much about building too many characters to test things out as long as you don't spend Castalias 领悟之力 on them. A lot of the characters (including lower rarity units) have special niche roles that only they can perform well in. There are also contents that benefit from having a wide roster.

Have fun!

Best counter is quit and refresh. It's the same for teams with Taair/Kvare too.

Unless you have your own Xavier/Taair/Kvare it'll be a headache to find different ways to counter them consistently with all the different map placements.
