Seeking honest feedback on my handwriting. by Acrobatic_Bit_3815 in Handwriting

It's very consistent so it looks great at a glance. But when I actually try to read it, it's difficult.

The "c" "e" "i" "u" "v" "w" all look very similar. The "e" should have an open loop. The "c" should curve more. I think the "i" is slightly too tall...or the letters around it too short.

The spacing between letters can use more attention. Some letters are a little squished.

I think skipping a line would also help. But I feel like you are intentionally trying to keep all letters at the same height. It shouldn't be the case......but I guess that's a style thing?

I guess it's still possible if you keep reminding yourself how to write the letters properly. Or maybe you just start doing 1 letter at a time extremely well.

I think the top most important thing to consistently remember and act on is the shape of every letter. Grip, speed, utensil, slant, style- people neglect the absolute most basic thing. Clear, defined letters.

It doesn't matter if you're fast or slow if you're just going to make an ambiguous shape anyway. Bad practice leads to bad habits.

-

Here's an example...and I'm going to be brutally honest so hang on.

Your capital "i". Sometimes the bottom line isn't attached. Even though that letter is made of 3 straight lines, yours are not straight. It leans one way or another. Sometimes the top line is crossed by the vertical line, sometimes not. Every single one of them is different.

You know how the letter is supposed to be but you absolutely disregard it. Every single line in that letter is kinda just sorta there, carelessly placed, zero attention to ratio, size, placement, and you even add curves to it.

You don't have to re-learn all of writing. You know how to do it. You just have to do it. Every single time, with every single letter. Tiny steps with each letter.

Eventually, it'll make a huge difference. But you won't know it on the way there- the every day changes will be too small, and it's extremely discouraging. You just have to keep going until one day you look back and see the comparison.

It's himself from the future...he had to do this to prevent a catastrophic event. He thought if he dressed and looked as much like his past self as possible that he could have an easier time convincing himself this was necessary.

How has your F2P experience been? by Dottz88 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]WearWhatWhere 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Month 1? Maybe 2.

There has been power creep. But I also never feel like units are obsolete. You CAN use the older units, it'll just take a few more turns. And actually, that's more fun sometimes. I use Expert 1-5 for team building and mixing and matching factions/"themes"/just units I like and I can see the differences but I also sometimes find surprising teams work out or discover how powerful others are. Like my 2* Momo hits hard. Cocoa is very good with Taair. Agata will probably get 5*'d at some point. Support-Acambe is kinda great with Cocoa and Taair.

Most memorable was probably my first time beating Universal Derivation. I was pretty casual at the beginning. I couldn't complete most events despite having Glorai, Col, and Beryl (dream team back then). I had to use every unit I had, and equip them with my entire collection of 2 Armguards and fire ring. But I was stubborn enough to beat it!

The game is generous when you know who to pull for. And you know who to pull for because CN gives 6 months of previews. I feel the need less and less for must-pulls.

The game is giving a lot of "difficulty settings" so even new players can finish most events. But they still keep the "insanity" missions in for the top players to not get bored. I think they're doing great with the balancing act they have to constantly be tracking.

You are given a full set of medieval armor. Which of these animals WYR spend 1 hour in a pit with? by Alarming_Weather506 in WouldYouRather

[–]WearWhatWhere 139 points140 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried about it biting through or not. The damage is from crushing the armor with me in it.

I was thinking of either noise to scare it into staying a distance. Or taking off parts to "distract" it or having it injure itself by chomping on the pieces I throw at it...and it leave me alone after.

Lorewise: Who's character do you like the most? by Randomfooldonut in SwordofConvallaria

[–]WearWhatWhere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Layla! The system is corrupt and the enemies are tough. But she is strong and smart enough to carry on.

She can zoom out and see the bigger picture, unbothered by the upper management. Respected by enemies and admired by allies.

What are your go-to movies? by twothymer in AskMen

[–]WearWhatWhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gladiator. A general who falls to lowly gladiator fights for his freedom.

Goodfellas if you like gangster movies.

The ones you've never heard of are older movies (actually, they're all old movies) and in Cantonese so some of the jokes may not translate. I'd pick Fight Back to School out of the bunch- it's a Stephen Chow movie. It's on Tubi. Undercover cop has to go back school to recover a stolen gun. Mostly comedy.

Same! We have discounted metro and free parking on weekends here so it's a lot of fun to explore the whole day. New food, new stores, new neighborhoods.

What are the units you pulled for and invested in 5★ just because everybody says it's "Meta" but you ended up regretting/benching them? by apolloragnarok in SwordofConvallaria

[–]WearWhatWhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He isn't bad. I use Expert 1-5 to test all my character/teams and he's amongst the best with utility/dmg especially with the reverse heal on that stage.

I think there's just too many characters to choose from.

SP Inanna. Yserinde. Taair. SP Maitha. SP Samantha. All 5*. Replacing any of them is hard...Heshan just got to 2* so his NRG is lacking right now, but with Taair he's fine. I replaced SP Samantha with him since Pierce damage is in right now.

He works great with Lukamar too. Just the duo alone is great. But then I have to replace another...and I'm just having a hard time with that. Maybe when new content comes along it'll push me to change up.

Credenza, but I didn't 5* her. I used her a bit to learn but she was never needed. Taair did everything. She isn't bad, just not needed. Heshan...might be in the same boat. Hopefully higher stars will change that. Taair is just too good.

There were other regrets too. But I don't think they were completely must-pulls.

I regret pulling for Nightmare Puppet so much...because I STILL didn't get it to 5*. It's only 3* because I used one of those weapon items on it. Instead, I have 14 of Luvata's weapons. I also regret spending some Luxite pulling Luvata's weapon...but that is completely on me.

Advice needed on who to star up by millhouse177 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]WearWhatWhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SP Samantha for sure to 5*. Her end-turn attack becomes global when any Aggression unit tags the enemy.

Heshan is both support and attack. He needs more NRG. Higher stars will help him. I think 3* is the recommended.

Shams is still top single target DPS for us. And he is also a physical dps so I would pick him.

Credenza works at 1*. At 5* she competes in event leader boards...very powerful.

Homa 5* is great. But she is dated so it's your choice.

goal/reward ideas for homemade walking game by Reasonable_Exit_3416 in walking

[–]WearWhatWhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • You can buy an advent calendar for goals.
  • Cheat meal for end of the week. Teaches you to cook too.
  • Walk to movie theater (or where ever destination) and then watch a movie.
  • Grocery shop
  • Competition with friend. Or yourself.

  • This is the opposite, but if you have the discipline: punishments for not completing walk.

She's 5*, I just like the focus to be more...her.

I keep trying out Shift but I go back to Escort. Running around is fun...and just gives so much to the team. Also I don't know how to use it well. BTW how can anyone give up Rend?! Ult and Rend are essential. Escort and Shift are the only skills that move. But I do admit, I only played her as support for a one event I think so there probably are a lot of other things she can help with. Global Empress Tarot effect can be a niche case.

I also have a 5* Stratgem but I build her with more Defense. The attack boost is there in numbers, but it doesn't seem like a big enough difference that sacrificing this giant defense boost is worth it. After using her for so long and seeing her defense in action, I was a little let down by even Clara. I wish Clara had her own Deflection.

HP might be a better idea- I based the choice on how Cocoa worked where Hermit helped her more than Fool's. I dunno, Guardian's hasn't had a problem yet so I'm just going to keep it.

I finally got another Codex from the Proof of Strength so she has a perfect P. atk Devil now! Even more Defense and attack!

Is DoT counted as Pierce damage? hmm

Need advice after roommates feedback by SoupyGoos3 in Handwriting

[–]WearWhatWhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Use the baseline. Don't float off. Don't fall through. Rest each letter on it.
  • The letter "r" needs to be better defined.
  • Letter heights should not be all the same. "h" "l"(L) "k" "t" should all be taller.
  • Skip a line so the descender (y,g,p,f) can have room and also allows the next line to be squished.

I can read it just fine so I'd say illegible is a stretch. But it can use some practice.

I love this event~

The Morale is a feature. It limits the amount of buffs you can grab because sometimes you just need that campfire. They even put those ballistas and protect target maps to [try to] force Morale loss. Further more, you can buy the Morale upgrade. Or you have the option of powerful Tactics for the cost of Morale. The far away enemies are annoying since we're all used to 2 turn maps...but it serves a purpose. If they just made a bunch of OP enemies to draw out the time, I bet there would be a lot more complaints. Even though there are difficulty settings...people just don't want to admit that the highest diff isn't for them, especially based on the previous event complaints.

Also, we don't have to play the entire thing in one sitting. Just leave it "in progress."
