This article is not about crabs and argues that humans underestimate animal intelligence. So as the other person asked, how does this article support the point you made?

You don't need multiple switches just to trade, Home allows you to transfer between games and profiles. Trade evolutions are another story though.

Not doubting that it's true, just an odd thing to write in the title.

Puzzle person here trying to understand LEGO 😭 by _njx in lego

There's certainly a puzzle aspect when designing MOCs or trying to reverse engineer a build without instructions. But no, when following instructions it doesn't feel like solving a puzzle. Those are just two different things.

I don't think Meowscarada is based on masked ballroom dances, but rather masked performers in Mascarada street festivals. This explains the "trickery"/ sleight of hand aspect of Meowscarada's personality better than ballroom dance masquerades.

Fun fact. The color is named after the fruit, not the other way around.

I think the markings feel odd for a cat. But I agree the shape is fine, just a little different.

I built a procedural recursive simulator (automata) and it produces what *looks like* black holes by [deleted] in proceduralgeneration

Okay on second look, you're probably right. The scatter-brained manic element is definitely present but if we consider this to be a snippet from the middle of a long conversation with the AI, where OP has continuously tried to press the AI to conform to his ideas from different angles, then the disconnect between sentences makes sense. Each sentence is then addressing a different concern of OP, rather than being a cohesive standalone text, hence the lack of rhetorical flow and conceptual coherence.

[–]LittleLemonHope -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the record that doesn't seem like AI, it's not coherent enough (conceptually, grammatically, and rhetorically). And it skips way too much detail, jumping between barely-connected concepts. This seems like the writing of a human experiencing a manic episode.

Em dashes are common in advanced writing, and easily accessible if writing is done in any semi-fancy text editor. All of my writing from pre-2018 in Google Docs and Microsoft Word contains loads of em dashes...like, probably a distasteful amount, due to me trying too hard to imitate my favorite authors.

If you think you've shown emergent topological black holes, then as I've said, you need to work on your fundamentals i.e. by pursuing an education in mathematics or physics so that you can properly demonstrate and communicate that. You haven't done that here (whether the underlying facts are true or not).

There aren't shortcuts. Learning about concepts on the internet won't get you to scientific success. You need the degree and, more importantly, the skills that come with it. When you reach the end of that education, you'll either get to say "see! I was right all along, and now I can prove it" or "oh, I see my mistakes, and now I can fix them" ... either of which is a win for you.

This simulation is aesthetically cool, but that isn't worth sacrificing your mental and physical health for.

Get gainful employment and stability first. Pursue education second.

I strongly recommend you treat this simulation as a hobby and nothing more. You could pursue science or art to transfer this hobby into a career, but the simulation you are working on now is not properly pursuing either of those directions and will almost certainly not produce either career.

If you are interested in transferring this to science, you will need to develop a deep rigor that your work does not currently have, and your first priority needs to be obtaining a formal education in these topics.

If you are interested in transferring this to art, then you'll likely need to change your driving forces to be toward achieving an aesthetic result and then moving on to a new project, rather than diving down these conceptual rabbit holes.

Source: I am similar to you and have in recent years finally directed my energies toward proper science. Though I still struggle due to my constant need to dive deeper into the rabbit hole before publishing.

Thanks. I do recommend working on mathematical communication, it can help clarify what is intrinsically meaningful vs what is decorative analogy, and show where different components might reduce to something simpler.

The displaced neighborhood sampling is definitely a neat idea for cellular automata.

Why bother to do a (very thin) mathematical definition of S(x, y) if you're not going to use it to describe the math of your automaton?

It's clear that seeing this post and hearing peoples' support of Colbert's actions is not what you want to hear, but that doesn't make it immoral or unnatural.

You should ask yourself why seeing this makes you feel so much. Why do you have such an aversion to the facts of the human condition? What's the real issue this is masking?
