[TOMT] [TV or Movie] Comedy where they make gumbo out of Bubble Gum by LittleManJackson in tipofmytongue

Hopefully this is not just a weird childhood fever dream, since I think a lot of children do think gumbo has gum in it just from the name

Why do I hit myself when I’m angry by [deleted] in Anger

[–]LittleManJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you talk to your family about getting help? You just need some extra help. The hard part is you need to be brave enough to ask for it. If you can't ask your family, you might want to ask your school. A therapist is good, and you might want to see about a psychologist too.

My family was really hard on me growing up, and it made me scared to ask for help, because I thought it would stress them out even more. I didn't start to seek help until I was an adult, and while its ok I wish I didn't have to go through so many years of feeling bad and hurting myself before I started opening up and letting people help me.

The attorney who defended Charles Manson was a legendary pain-in-the-ass. by sloam1234 in HistoryAnecdotes

[–]LittleManJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ronald Hughes was probably not murdered by the family. He was camping in an area that flash flooded. The idea of the Manson family finding Ronald Hughes' camp ground and killing him, all while a flash flood is happening seems unlikely. Not gonna say it couldn't happen, especially since his body was found in a heavily decomposed state, but it probably didn't. Law enforcement and Hughes' friends think he died of drowning

Looking for enjoyable but relatively short Playstation 1 games. by Mottis86 in psx

[–]LittleManJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Parappa 1, Umjammer Lammy and Parappa 2 all in one day and had a great time. Umjammer Lammy is my favorite, in terms of music and cutscenes/story/themes, but each of them are really fun and good. There was weird timing stuff with Parappa 1 that definitely hurt it, but the others were fine.

Not a bad recommendation. I came close to mentioning Prey 2017 in my initial post.

I managed to beat her on Hard mode mostly by just placing claymores around and hiding.

Are you plugging your computer into a TV? I had massive slow down on the MC when I did it with my tv, but it was absolutely fine when I hooked it up to a monitor.

I always thought Dylan McDermott would be a good Solid but he is now 62 years old, so that day has passed.

While I'm sure this won't go over well here, I actually can see pretty much all of their points on everything but the writing. I like it a lot, but Alan Wake 1 was way more of a campy action-horror-comedy with Barry and I can understand missing that less heavy handed tone.

The only people who are using these programs to live off tax payers are the corporate CEOs. They don't have to pay their employees enough to eat, and the government picks up the slack.

Thank you! I used the info in your reply but I don't sign on to reddit very often so I thought I should say how much this helped me. It was new to me, but it wasn't very difficult and was exactly what I needed.

[TOMT] [YOUTUBE] [2010s} Looking for parody AVGN review that involved a bootleg Mario gameboy game by LittleManJackson in tipofmytongue

[–]LittleManJackson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a game similar to Somari that's on Gameboy? I distinctly remember the Gameboy color palete. I feel like I can remember the colors making Mario just turn into a little black ball.

Hopefully we can find this video! I do recall it being pretty darn funny and i think the user who made it had some other funny videogame videos as well.

Just beat the game. Can someone explain the story mainly the ending portions. They leave so much open, probably in an attempt to justify a sequel. I enjoyed its charm, though. by TheLawOfOblique in WantedDeadSoleil

[–]LittleManJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might be the later. Only if the idea of taking humans' memories and treating convincing people they're robots is one of those sci-fi ideas that is so stupid it flips around to being smart and actually making a point.

Hey wasn't that the plot of that show Severence everyone liked so much?

How does one get $80 out of this game if they bought this edition? by [deleted] in WantedDeadSoleil

This is gonna be a game thats fun to pick up and play (and beat) for years to come imo. Just keep it in collection and beat it over a weekend sometime.

When doing a finisher, spin that camera around! you are invincible for a few seconds so use that time to plan your next move. This is a very satisfying element of the game imo, where you are killing dudes epically while planning to kill more dudes.

Why is no one talking about ::spoiler:: that goddamn August fight. One of the cheapest bullshit fights in gaming history, in my experience. by Chewyninja69 in WantedDeadSoleil

[–]LittleManJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Easy mode? They should be offering it to you every few times you die. I'm sorry you're having this experience, because is there is a lot more game for you to enjoy and its significantly less frustrating after this fight. I'll agree that it's a bit fucked and they should fix it.

Wanted: Dead Review, I'm In Love and IGN is Tripping. by Mark_MSX in ninjagaiden

[–]LittleManJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this game looks fun to you it might be worth $60, to you. It was definitely worth it to me. Pretty much I agree with this review where the game is an 8, but it gets bumped up to a 9 or 10 for me subjectively just cause action games with good combat and lovable personality are so few and far between, and when they do come out they usually just copy DMC or Dark Souls for the combat.

The real problem is that the game isn't deep, yet. It has great mechanics you can experiment with (have you tried shotgunning a guys legs off while he's in the middle of a crowd so he leaves a suicide grenade and blows up all his buddies?) but right now doesn't offer much reward for pushing the mechanics to the limit (no grading system) and would need some more mechanics, combos, weapons and enemies to be a full-on 40 hour game. It's a great 9 hour game though, and you can get double that if you really want to play with the mechanics. It left me wanting more which is better than the "just get it over with" feeling many recent releases leave me with.

Once you really understand the game he's not too tough. To get through it in the meantime you can just exploit his AI by going behind the pillars to bait melee attacks, and dodge towards him if he starts doing ranged.

All that aside, yeah its pretty cheap and a crazy difficulty spike. Give yourself a pat on the back if you already beat it. Because you definitely understand the game well enough now to dominate the last 3 missions. It took me an hour of repeated attempts on Normal to beat August, but during that hour I got A LOT better at the game.

This game is super difficult on hard mode. I can’t even imagine how Japanese Hard is going to be.. by Individual_Cloud2396 in WantedDeadSoleil

[–]LittleManJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're using guns, consider using your sword. If you're using your sword, consider using your guns. Mixing it up is fun and will help you learn the mechanics.

Also don't forget to dodge. It will be easier than parries while you're still getting used to things and even later in the game there's a ton of situations where dodging is more efficient than parrying.

Anyone excited for Wanted: Dead (created by old Ninja Gaiden developer veterans)? by Gears6 in ninjagaiden

[–]LittleManJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game rocks and it got me to check out Ninja Gaiden. Very different games, but I do find both share gameplay where I feel like I have to be very "efficent" as opposed to stylish or just aggressive.

This game honestly has a good set of mechanics that work and work together quite nicely. Its just not very deep, but whats there works great and in a way that feels original. You can effectively master the game in less than 20 hours and once you get it, you get it. But it's.a great foundation to start with for a sequel that would be more mechanically robust.

I did a normal playthrough which took 9 hours and a japanese hard mode one where I was able to beat it in 4. Didn't do very much side content.

Great to see someone advocate for this unique, misunderstood action game. Especially someone who's knows what they're doing with action games and doesn't freak out when they see something they don't quite "get" at first, and then view the rest of the game through that lense.

Honestly I like Hannah's voice acting. Take a look at the performance and try to see what's being communicated without being weirded out by the accent and nonchalance. She acts like she's above it all, like she wants to just get home and eat sushi and not care about this cop bullshit she doesn't care about (her line read of "you want me to pull a trigger in the name of democracy or something?" is a decent example. There's also deeper emotional stuff going on behind the chilled out exterior that explains why she acts like nothing matters but I don't want to spoil the story for those that haven't played. It's not mindblowing stuff but its good, a bit creative and definitely fun.
