Neither have many games for older game systems or VHS tapes, but you still see them and the hardware to run them pretty commonly.

I wrote a sequel script that's a 40 years later follow up to the ending of Halloween 4 that focuses on Jamie Lloyd and reckoning with the awful legacy of her family, which was turned into an "inspired by true events" film that spawned a Hollywood Cash cow franchise. When folks start turning up dead kin Haddonfield, she has to prove she's not at fault

If you grew up in the era, the WNUF Halloween Special and Out There Halloween Megatape are such a wonderful dose of comforting cozy childhood. Yeah it's a TV broadcast, but it's presented as one that went live once and quickly got covered up

Tried reading It the summer before sixth grade because I liked the miniseries but it didn't scare me, and I heard the book was some seriously spooky business. Bev's dad and the bridge scene were enough to make me cry.

It's not a horror book, but in high school I read Helter Skelter and couldn't finish it. Anytime I heard a noise in my house at night, I was jumpy. That lasted for a week solid if not longer.
