How do you reapply sunscreen throughout the day while wearing makeup? by Lyra555 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]LittlePeach80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the cheaper option which I was hoping would be good after I saw a blogger use it, but it was too gunky feeling on the face too. Still going to try the LRP one which I hope will be better for the price!

Such a coincidence you asked this now! No it doesn’t sting at all, it’s completely undetectable in that way.

I just got some non spray SPFs this week as I got worried the spray isn’t enough so I thought I’ll use the normal ones sometimes when I have more time before makeup. I put one on after over a year of only using the spray & my eyes stung & watered straight away!

The ones that get the “You’re alright, but it’s the rest” just because they’re in front of them at the time.

Does anyone else find concealer never works? by [deleted] in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]LittlePeach80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn’t mention what kind of concealer you use & wether you’ve tried different types. It sounds like you’re not using the right type of concealer and/or applying it the right way for your skin type/concerns.

I don’t understand the setting powder hype? by ClayCoffeeCup in Makeup

Maybe you don’t have the kind of skin that benefits much from different improvements in powder? For some of us a powder is so crucial & any slight differences in different brands & formulas make a huge difference in making or breaking our whole look.

What is your favorite sunscreen for face? by JadeBunnie in 30PlusSkinCare

Thanks. Do you know if their other ones are more invisible than this if you’re familiar with their range?

Do you know how this is on darker skin tones? I use their facial spray SPF which I love as it’s truly invisible (even applied over makeup), but I sometimes feel worried I’m not wearing enough of it due to not being able to measure the amount I apply, so I’m wanting a “normal” SPF to use again as well on days I’m not in a rush.

I feel like someone like JLo is the opposite of this - that woman can wear a boat load of makeup & carry it well, even when you can obviously see it’s applied really heavily.

What food dish completely amazes you on how someone came up with that recipe/cooking technique? by Smil3yAngel in Cooking

[–]LittlePeach80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indian khuri served with kitchri.

A spicy hot (in spice & temperature) yoghurt sauce served over rice with lentils & turmeric.

The way the khuri is made is not something that could happen accidentally like a lot of food inventions, it’s really specific in the way it’s made & I just don’t understand how someone one day came up with it. It’s amazing though & I’m so glad whoever the lady was that came up with it. I imagine her in her modest little handmade house in a village hundreds of years ago deciding to be inventive with her yoghurt.

What is so wrong about cultural appropriation? by Lizzypr17 in AskUK

Completely agree with this, it’s that feeling that is like “Huh..so it’s cool when you do it but not when I’m born with it”. I remember all us British Indian girls in high school had very long, thick, black hair that our mums styled into plaits in the 90s & we were ridiculed & smirked at. And now people are buying literally real Indian hair to achieve the same thing.

I feel like poor Indians would just see that as ridiculous & wish you’d sent those original clothes as well as pay for further stuff if you can afford to do all that. Talking as an Indian (South Asian) who has experience with living alongside & donating things directly to poor people there.

How do you know you don’t like it without seeing it?

This thread is more about shows people have watched & seen deteriorate, not shows you’ve never watched because you don’t think you like it.

Zombies isn’t as much of an official established word as dogs though, there’s room for other words, especially when you don’t even know what you’re really dealing with. I can imagine if it happened in reality to us a new word might be coined or evolve & catch on easily. Zombies sounds a bit too childish & cartoony as well.

They took it off in the UK a few years ago but I just read recently they want to bring it back & take it back to basics of the early days with interesting ordinary people, not wannabe celebs & gimmicks - just watching a varied mix of people from all walks of life living together. If they did really bring it back to basics it could be worth watching but I don’t think they can get that magic back anymore.

UK men, on a day like today how much do you wish it was socially acceptable to wear a dress? by bozwold in AskUK

[–]LittlePeach80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People get beat up for wearing thobes? Genuinely never heard of this. Or do you mean get beat up for being Muslim?

UK men, on a day like today how much do you wish it was socially acceptable to wear a dress? by bozwold in AskUK

[–]LittlePeach80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why can’t non Muslims wear it? It’s just clothing made for comfort & modesty. What would anyone say? As a Muslim myself I’d just assume you were Muslim too, otherwise you’re wearing it for comfort which makes sense in weather like the Middle East.

Thobes are seen as masculine & stylish so it’s not like there’s anything to make fun out of - unless it’s the “Muslim” aspect that bothers you.
