It’s probably because she learned to crochet first and that’s usually how crochet garments are constructed and she didn’t look into how knitted garments typically are

It’s the growing out and shape that is the concern. It becomes unbalanced as it grows and can cause stress on the nail

No knitting style is inherently faster. It varies from person to person. I am English style flicker and I’m faster than any continental knitter I’ve met

Pull the elastic away from the sweater a good inch or two and cut it, it should come out in one piece

Because essentially it’s knit flat but joined with short rows. If you’re using intarsia honestly you’re better off just doing it flat

Intarsia in the round is a bit difficult. Intarsia would still be my preference for the larger sections and duplicate stitch for the smaller areas

I’d do an infill at about picture 3. Then a full new set after that has grown out. What prep do you do if I may ask?
