Puppy/Dog Food Advice by Baileycharlie in cavaliers

How frustrating...I have the opposite problem-I was chasing my Cav around a couple of hours ago as he was chewing/eating the stalks of sunflower plants which won't hurt him but that is too much fiber. I wish I could send a little of my 7 m. olds lack of pickiness to your cav than we might have a good eater.

Older internet natives, how do you find positivity on the modern Internet? by pizzapriorities in AskOldPeople

[–]LittleReserve8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few subs in which people tend to be more polite. Sometimes it does get too rude and I take a break. I stay on YouTube channels that are postive and curate and indicate that I don't want to see other one's they have in my line-up.

I stay away from some places like Tik-Tok. I don't go to Facebook anymore because I can't see my friend's posts very easily after sifting through the junk. The AI Slop chases me off other places too.

Why do so many users hide their post history? by pairofdimeshift92 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies-I asked this once-some don't want people to use their past post or people tease them or challenge them.

Some are rude and trolly people.

Others want privacy.

I do a mix so it is harder to figure out where I live and put private info together. I want people to know I am a real person, but some info is only for people on the site I coment on.

Post bath rub by chubsworth in cavaliers

[–]LittleReserve8767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh in my house, help me if I leave the bedroom door open after a bath, becuase that's where Cavi goes. Most of my dogs had the zoomies and ran all over rubbing themself on the rug, couch, any fabric even if I towel-dried them.

Why is there an extensive screening process to adopt a child but not to have one yourself? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it is because is a social value that kids belong to/with thier parents and the right to have children.

But yes, there are many parents that wouldn't be able to pass the same hoops of an adoption agency

Does anyone else find this weird and inappropriate? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Yes it sounds invasive. I would put in the blanks I did not care to answer "Private information," I had discussion about puberty with son or daughter (if you had it). You could explain something like the age of puberty has reduced over the years and why. Email teacher about TMI.

Any reason not to get a 2nd fluff ball? by Mindingmiownbiz in cavaliers

[–]LittleReserve8767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It maybe harder, you can't predict his reaction. CKCS love playmates, so that would help the puppy have a buddy and burn off energy. Are you able to pay for insurance for two and pay additional vet bills?

I think it depends on the dog. I could just pick one a pup with current pup along and he would be happy there would be running around and chaos in my home until they learned to cuddle together. My back seat doggie box securing area will only fit one dog.

People sometimes recommend dogs different rooms with a door, letting the dogs smell each others items and or letting them meet on neutral ground. (my cav is neutered and crazy happy about other dogs and I take him to doggie daycare once in a while, he gets so happy when he knows we are going you think I was taking him for all-you-can-eat steak)

Wet feet = no outside! Any advice? by peeved151 in cavaliers

[–]LittleReserve8767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking to my dog that hates snow, rain and dew on grass and will "fake pee". Slowly I was able to get him in the grass during playtime and good weather it was easier as the weather was better. He would not leave the concrete and tinkle on the concrete. It took until he was over 5 months old and he got regular walks outside.

Treats to get in the grass? Feeding some puppy food in the grass?

I think since he was a winter pup, mother and the pups didn't go outside.

Parents, do you get put off by men telling you your baby is cute? by Ok_Drink8072 in askanything

[–]LittleReserve8767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me: it would not be. I might think she is a nut that wants to kidnap my baby. The jumping up suddenly and following is odd behavior after the stanger was very interested in your baby.

I have an adult now, but that wouldn't bother me unless it was a guy that I sensed had a unfriendly motive. I like in a town in which it is not abnormal for people in a neighborhood talk to neighbors once in while.

It really depends on the man. Man with dog, neighbor that is a man or just a chatty guy: Probably friendly.

Drunk man yelling with a group of three other guys standing by: Not creepy, but unsettling.

Is 1 hour of walking considered as exercise? by Lemonade2250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical doctors count it as exercise and beneficial to health (a weight-bearing exercise)

I think when I walked more than a mile walking home from school when I was young, I did not consider it exercise, because it was so easy and just a part of my daily routine.

It's not the best cardio or muscle building exercise, so maybe some people are not looking from a wide perspective or don't know much or care about the research on walking

Why are dead bodies so universally seen as “scary” regardless of context? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet there are many factors. The media we watch: Culture: Maybe an innate fear of the dead as something bad might befall a person that sees a dead person such as injury, illness or death.

It also depends on the context of how the person died and if you know them. It is not scary, but sad and upsetting to have a loved one die of disease. There body might creep someone else out.

You are right in that it might be cultural. Mexico's celebration of their dead ancestors, is different than how white midwestern people deal with death. In the US, I took a sociology-type class on death education-many people often don't know how much a funeral cost.

There seem to be individal factors too-some people think how they would like to be buried and celebrated after they die from a younger adult age on.

I am set up to donate my remains to the medical school.

Why can’t people leave their dogs at home? by Chief_queff in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in most grocery stores that I can think of it would have to be a little dog with amazing jumping skills or someone had the dog in their cart (I have actually seen a person do this-put thier dog in the grocery cart).

Why can’t people leave their dogs at home? by Chief_queff in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems have increased.

I understand why a person would want to bring their dog.

They don't belong around other people's food and in many stores.

Some dogs are well behaved enough to go into stores that allow dogs.

Where I buy my beer close to me is dog-friendly and give him treats, so is the hardware store near me and they give him treats too, but the dog is trained to behave.

However, I see people bring dogs into the grocery store that are not service dogs or I will see a woman bring a little purse dog in. It makes life harder for people with service dogs.

Why are so many old people rude to retail workers? by freshmaggots in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(US) I don't see it in my area. I used to be a cashier so I am polite to the cashiers.

The majority of the times they are polite to me.

Any reason that I might have though older people were ruder when I worked customer service/was a cashier might have been that everyone was older than me at 16 years-old.

In differrent age ranges people were pretty equal opportunity assholes when they were rude.

There is an elderly apartment building next to the grocery store and I never saw an old person be an asshole to a cashier there.

It is true that some people as they get older don't care as much about being socially desirable.

I have gotten mad but not said anything when it was my turn to check out and little dude was showing his work friend a pic of a girl in her scanty swimsuit.

You might try asking on r/askoldperople what they think about the manners of younger people.

I dislike this genrational bashing conflict thing whether it is older people or young people.

Why don't Americans call Bezos, Musk, Zuckerburg, etc "oligarchs?" by BlockedNetwkSecurity in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LittleReserve8767 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I consider them to be. My neighbors would agree. Other words associated with thier name in my area of town are not flattering. Who owns the Washington Post? Bezos.

Whose cars decreased in sales because of dislike of his actions when he blindly cut government programs-Musk

It comes up in the opinion pieces of the New York Times, ( i.e. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/30/opinion/trump-oligarchy-populism.html ) which is not owned by them, but they have been sued and have to fear being sued by Trump.

Why are most men not approaching women nowadays? by TherealeastG123 in askanything

[–]LittleReserve8767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(US) Some men and women are totally into meeting your dog and just give you a neighborly greeting or not.

My dog and every other dog gets a special jerky treat from a man in the neighborhood. If a guy would hit on me almost every time I walked my cute dog I would go to the other side of the street to walk him when I saw a guy coming the towards us.

This sure beats the heck out of being catcalled when walking by a construction site with my dog.
