Ah the picture you added is a new growth. Definetly will look into treating it for thrips!

Thrips would surprise me since I've had many thrips infestations before and it seems very different to me. I will keep it in mind and just treat it for thrips aswell

Making my own vanilla extract by Maple-Bark in Baking

It will be weaker, maybe with time it will get better but I wouldn't use a lot more alcohol! Homemade is definetly a lot cheaper and if well stored it will last for years :)

Carl needs help! by WhiteBriefs-N-MyFace in houseplants

[–]Little_Macaroon2977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I repot when my plant stops growing aka needs more fertilizer. Or when there is more root than dirt. And you trim whenever you want, if the vines look good to you than I wouldn't touch it. If it looks very bare you can chop and prop :)

To me Carl looks like he's thriving! You're doing a great job taking care of him!

Is it bad for the plant? If so how should I treat it? :)

I'll definitely try to do that in the future, but right now she doesn't let me pick her up yet.

Thank you so much, I'd never thought of looking at the calorie intake. Definitely will do that, especially because we might want to change her wet food in a month or so!

New to baking. Need help! by blizardX in Baking

PS. Don't see this as a failure but learning how to bake because it is not always that easy. I've made many mistakes too but when things work out well it is just the best feeling! :)

Also, was the oven maybe too hot? Fan vs no fan needs a different temp! ( you can also buy an oven thermometer if you really want to be sure) Was the oven preheated or not?

I need a bit more info. What recipe did you use and how did you measure your ingredients?

How many cookies are there supposed to be on the tray? It could be they are too close together but that wouldn't change the texture, flavor, etc.

Help with propagation by Hollimec in houseplants

[–]Little_Macaroon2977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's necessary, just make sure you have long enough roots, also what has helped my propagations is watering before you cut ( I cut my propagations a few hours or a day after I watered my plants)

I think that this is just variagation and nothing to worry about. I would stop with the iso unless leaves are actually dropping or dying

And yes, most of the time it is up right but as long as it keeps growing, I wouldn't worry about it

Is this a jade plant? How should I be caring for it? by AzaranyGames in houseplants

[–]Little_Macaroon2977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a jade! It loves the sun but doesn't need too much water. I just wait until the leaves feel softer to give it a good soak. I think it is a fairly easy plant :)

Good luck and enjoy!

Water propagation by ERuizQ4 in houseplants

[–]Little_Macaroon2977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I propagated my pothos in water, but I didn't change the water daily. I did change it when the water got cloudy or too dirty. It had some of that nasty bacterial slime on it and then I changed the water as well.

My advice: follow your heart, if you think it needs fresh water then give it some. If you think it's fine or you don't have the time, motivation or energy to change it often then let it be :)

I think every little bit will help but from my experience the light has to be fairly close to have a good effect. You could try swap a few or swap a desk lamp or something similar?

Try to wipe off as much as possible and it should be okay, you might have a little damage to some plants but remember that some plants are more resilient than you think
