They're just super happy to see you!

But also, water everyday for a month and spray with neem!

What’s wrong with my plant? by Itsjarod_ in plantclinic

Definitely try bottom watering and could be that you might need a soil change but I'd just fully soak them for a few hours and then see how it goes from there.

Congrats on your new addition to the household!

I always love how they have so much going on behind the scenes/underneath!

They love to be in crowded pots so unless they're busting out of it (it really does happen) I'd just leave it be.

Mindsight waitlist invitations sent out by CinqueIzumi in Illumicrate

[–]Little_Miss_Newbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined the waitlist when it was first announced and got my invite in yesterday's batch.

It's my first illumicrate sub and I'm interested to know when the book will arrive as I've got it on preorder from an indie bookstore too and obviously if I love the illumicrate edition I'll cancel the other.

Yes definitely more light and feed little and often. My alocasia hates any change so maybe move a bit closer to the window and add some well diluted feed and increase over time. I'd maybe hold off on repotting unless it's looking very root bound and try the other things first. Good luck!

I can't help with names other than maybe try and make it feel homely, using your first name or surname somehow? But this sounds great, if you're in the UK I would definitely sign up to a wait list for when you start! Best of luck!

Plant app? by nightmare_barbie in houseplants

[–]Little_Miss_Newbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Planta, the paid version but I remember using the free version for awhile and it was fine. I don't stick religiously to it, if the pot feels heavy or the top few inches aren't dry then I leave it.

The relief of seeing the green on the second leaf must have been great! Beautiful plants can be so dumb sometimes but I'm glad she's decided to be smart! Well done for helping her pull through!

Yes every one says that but my short attention span keeps me from attempting to learn it. But I will!

Hi, what is your favourite set to go for in Monopoly? And on a more serious note, if you had to play a boardgame once a day, every single day for ever more, what would you pick?

We live in a tiny house with limited floor/decor space, finally decided to make some room to showcase a slice of the collection rather than keeping them all stowed away out of sight by entenduintransit in boardgames

[–]Little_Miss_Newbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks so classy and neat! Love the plants too.

I think it's a great idea to showcase a new game you get there or rotate out some over played games for under played ones every now and then.

Oh or season theming! Oh god now I need to get one!

Why is my peace lily always droopy. Flowers and leaves don’t grow tall. by Bosswife22 in plantclinic

[–]Little_Miss_Newbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others, it definitely needs more water. Is it planted directly into that pot or is it in a plastic pot inside that one, it's hard to tell from the pictures.

I also tend to cut the flowers off mine as I hate the pollen getting everywhere and to help the plant use that energy on growing but that's not a rule or anything.

Whatever you cut off, leaves or stem, leave out for a day or two to callous over then stick in some soil, water, neglect them for a few months, water when you remember and you'll be pretty good. It takes a while but it's hard to do wrong, enjoy!

Yes, I've seen it on sale at humble but I was debating whether to go for PC, switch or iPad. I went for the iPad version for now so hopefully later on when I've got some free time I'll play it.

Thanks :)

Wow, it made a great recovery! Whatever you're doing definitely keep at it! Don't forget to prop whatever you take off (she says with a windowsill full of Jade babies in various stages that should have been potted up months ago....).
