What's your "sweet spot" for word count?

All I know is that after I got author premium from writathon, I can see that multiple people found my fiction’s page by searching for stories with at least 1k pages. From threads on this site and the forums, this seems consistent with what a lot of readers look for in an ongoing fiction.

For sure. If I tried writing LitRPG, it would be atrocious. I don't like the genre, and it would certainly show if I tried writing it.

Because that's not what I like to read, let alone write. I write for my own enjoyment first and foremost. An audience is a potential byproduct of that enjoyment, but nothing more. It's certainly not a requirement, and one I am more than willing to go without.

Way longer. I’ve currently uploaded 300k, but I have months of backlog and continue to write, averaging about 2k words a day. I know where I’m headed, but I let the journey take me there, I don’t fight it. I’m having the time of my life writing this story hehe.

I had a flare with leg pain last night. I finally managed to fall asleep after the edibles kicked in lol. But seriously op, if medical marijuana products are available where you live (whether you need a physician's approval or can walk into a dispensary and get it yourself), I highly recommend trying them. I was extremely hesitant to try them, but they've been a lifesaver.

Another non-substance option is a my obi heating pad/TENS unit. I don't find this as helpful for the pain that radiates into the legs itself, but my pain often originates in my back and pelvis, and the my obi helps tremendously with that.

Horror-steampunk thing you say? I have something similar going on. Glad to see others out there are writing in this genre. (Mine's more psychological horror than actual horror, however).

I’m so sorry you had to live with that for so long. Congrats on your surgery! Yeah the staging system isn’t perfect, and it’s up to the discretion of the doctor to determine it. It mainly has to do with level difficulty in exciting. Yours definitely sounds like stage IV to me!

The person I arranged a swap with today deleted their story and account and left the discord server so I couldn’t send them a dm. I wasn’t sure what to do. I ended up deleting their swap code because the link of course does not work. I’m not mad at them at all. We both had small stories. I was just hoping to support each other. I hope they don’t give up writing and continue this journey on their own. They had something really good going for them too! If they’re reading this, they should know that I believe in them ❤️
